I do like the design of those, over the usual ones..But... I'd need 'em black instead of chrome..

and I agree with everyone else on the Kelvin.. need alot lower K, like 1/3 of what you have, and then the usable light on the road will seem much better.

Actually, it will ONLY appear to be bright due to its concentration and the way our eyes perceive different wavelengths of the color spectrum. And if you look at the lumens ratings of kits past 6000k you will see the difference in true output, there is a reason OEM uses 4100k 8)

12,000k = 12,000, the K stands for Kelvin which is the measurement of color temp. Lol it is in the visible light temp. spectrum but I doubt its useable road light.
I guess im used to seeing it as 12k or 9k or 6k.......

those are purple....lol

not to thread jack but, i have been getting in yellow HID's, from 4000k to 10000k, when they get to the higher k's it turns orenge. looks pretty cool, and there still dot approved.

Your supplier must be bullshitting you, because here's the Kelvin color temp scale in terms of what our eyes see, and anything "10k" would be blue.

Alot of these new mass prodcution HID kits have been labeling HIDs as just any number, 8k pink, when the scale doesn't show pink being at that color temperature.

KELVIN TEMP ONLY DESCRIBES THE COLOR TEMP. BASED ON THE COLOR SPECTRUM, IT DOES NOT DESCRIBE OUTPUT!

12000K is wayy tooo high man. should have gone with 6000K. I had those projectors on my civic a long time ago...those things are old school. but they look great on your ride. I got rid of them because they took h3's and had horrible light output...then i got my sonars and its improved greatly.

ya i doubt you'll get better visibility, especially using hid in a halogen projector, which just doesnt work. exactly the reason why i'm doing a retrofit. sure its $500, but in the end, my car headlights will look just like an audi.

Show us a picture of them on showing the cut off on a wall or something... 12000K is overkill imo... but they look cool, haha

Just incase you didn't know it's the lower the k's the brighter the HIDs. I have a retro fit TSX HID 6000k and I get high beamed when I'm waiting for a light from on coming traffic. These suckers are bright and imagine I want to convert my fog's to 3000k hids.

if people are hi beaming you, then the projectors are aimed too high. i have seen hid projectors that look dimmer from the front than halogen. and all OEM installed hid hardware uses 4100-4300k white bulbs. the blue/purple cutoff comes from the lens where it bends light.

are they the factory D2S bulbs?

I get no high-beams at all on my TSX retro.. i've done oncoming drive test and had my friends driving in front of me, and had them drive my ride and test myself, perfect!

so what that tells me is... your s**t is AIMed to high

like latinEM1 said.. got pics of ur cut off? cuz it doesn't sound like it's done right

here are pics of my s**t

lookin good! projector retros are nice but i've always wanted to do reflector retros on my last car but i never got around to it.....(got wrecked).

As for the theadstarter.... damn this thread is old.

2 reasons y u aint seein nothing
1. 12k a bit too high temp, less white, more purple, dont really see too much.....especially in the rain....
2. Your projectors may not be able to step it up enough to output enough light from ur hids. (word to the wise) most after market projectors are rubbish. Only ones out there that I know of that actually seem to do their job are

a .sonar(and some of those dont even outshine the stockers).
b. tyc (now these, i've personally fitted with hids, and these do the job damn well! may not hit the distance of a retro fit, but they sure as hell aren't that far behind. oh, and i'm talking about real tyc's not the fake ones....).
