Ok if i plan to bore my engine (on the d16 or anyother honda engine) am i goin to have to get a custom head gasket? Ive asked this question before but never got an answer. I just want to know if boring your engine has any effect on your stock gasket?

^^^ No answers yet? haha this is exactley what happened on my other thread. I asked this question and it never got hit up after that! haha. Well so far im looking at getting a d16y8 having it b&b then purchasing the edelbrock kit. Im looking at running 7psi for daily driving, and in the future bumping up to 10pounds. I figure that this setup will run me about as much as swapin a b18c1, but with a much more usable powerband. If anyone has any comments or recomendation please say so. thanks.

You know it really is what i want to do, but thats goin to cost me alot more money and time. I was thinkin to myself why i was even considering a turbo d-series. Then i thought to myself well for one the cost. A b16 swap would probaly cost me around 2 grand where as a d16y8 swap would cost me around 400. I also took into consideration that i was buying a turbo kit another 3 grand. So far im looking at 5grand for the swap and turbo and around 3grand for the y8 and turbo. The claims of 170 whp and 140 lb ft for around the same cost as a b18c swap is just to good for me to pass up, and with the extra 2 grand i would save by not swapping in a b-series i could really make that d kick ass. Im still not totally commited to this swap. One of my more recent worries is that ive heard the d-series has a horrible r/s ratio. While i havent done much research on this it still makes me consider the near perfect ratio of the b16.

Ya im goin kit, and i know that i could buy a turbo setup for less than 3 grand. But the thing is im just a reliability freak. In my head i think that the three thousand bucks is worth the research and development that went into a kit, and that the parts all work together. I just would always be afraid if i went out and bought used parts for my daily.
