i cant think of the name besides polishing wheels. its a pretty strong drill bit with a metal scrubber on the end. works like a charm and doesn't scratch the surface. just did my valve cover and it was crazy dirty

Yep, about a gazillion times. If you have an air compressor the green nylon/plastic wheel brushes are good too.
I feel like I keep repeating myself lol. Just go at it and don't be scared.
Well I ended up not getting emery cloth today. I had soft plastic brush polishing bit for my dremel which worked like a charm. I just ate through the whole bit. I'm hopefully going to get another bit tomorrow and I'll post some pics soon.
Well here is what I've been using to clean the block.
It's a soft plastic wire brush attachment for the Dremel.
This is how clean I have gotten it so far. My only question is can the block be too smooth? These bits are made for polishing. So should I use them to get the majority of the dirt off, then roughen it up a little?
After burning through my whole supply of those bits in an hour and being the only one home, with no way to go to the store and get more, I was getting a little bored. So I did something that should have been done a long time ago.
I started with the driver's side because I've heard that is harder. I'm super happy with the results.
I've also been trying out some custom fabrication...

Yeah, I thought about that, but I didn't have the time to cut a hole in the front for it to come out. I will probably do that later though.
As far as the fab work goes, I was just looking for something to do in my last few days of tech ed class and that is the result. It is hardly finished though so I'm not going to reveal all just yet.
No, it was a stretch, but I was able to connect them without extending them. The two wires running the whole way back are for the sidemarkers.On the blue conection, did you cut the wires and then made them longer???...
The only wires I cut and re-soldered were for the wiper motor and the two going to the master cylinder. I just did that so it would be easier to run them under the windshield wiper cowling. I'm not sure if they would have to be extended for other chasis/trims. Looking at the passenger side though, I think I'm going to have to extend those wires to make the connectors meet. If I do, I can take some pics and make a how-to.

i recommend just cutting out the brake fluid level wires, and also the wiper motor wires you could have just pryed the oval opening some and wiggled it through. it woked for me.

Haha yeah, I was going to post more on that later. It's actually an OEM one way check valve. It comes stock on all EGs and DCs. Their valve is not integrated into the line like the EK. I'll get some pics tomorrow.

I was looking today and I think I have to move the blower motor out of the way to even get access to the inside of the door grommet. Is this how you did it?

but nope, only time i had to loosen the blowe was for the fusebox harness but i didnt have to take it out. since i knew i was going to be extending i just cut the wires on the interior side, ran a feeder wire through, and pulled them up and out and soldered them back together

I didnt extend wires on either side (i suck at wiring so i made a point not to cut anything) and my wiper motor wires were the hardest to deal with, but i de-pinned them and fished them back through some holes and reconnected it under the cowl. Takes more time and patience, but it can all be done without cutting.

Yeah, I think I know how you did you wiper wires. I was going to do it the same way, but I couldn't get it de-pinned so I said screw it and just cut the wires. As far as the passenger side goes, I can't see how you managed to not cut them, but I'll see what I can do.
Yeah, i had a bit of trouble de-pinning at first. Its like, once you get one, then its easy.
You may be forced to cut that whole in the front part of the fender area, because it was a close stretch to get the harness to connect again without it. Even with the cut holes the wires dont have too much slack.
