maybe thats just it. maybe the bulbs burned out and they replaced it with the cheaper ones.

x2 i'm sure thats what happened. they probably did not have the amber bulbs instock at the dealer or somethin, so they went with the whiteys. If your radio is stil amber you're doin good.

Everyone keeps telling you, but I'm not sure you get it.

All '99-'00 US climate controls are the same*. The Si only got amber light bulbs while the others got white.

You can have a brand new '00 Civic Si with white bulbs. You can have a brand new '00 Civic EX with white bulbs. Same climate controls, different light bulbs. It's not like the Si climate control is constructed differently or that it can only take amber light bulbs. The bulbs aren't shaped any different.

* - Okay, technically the GX sedan got special stickers on it, but those models aren't exactly common and I've never heard of that climate control being sought after.
