also I am pretty sure your compression is not 5, have you ever done a compression test before, how many times did you try to crank it over when testing?

The way you're talking about the engine spinning faster than normal and having such low commpression sounds a lot like what my wife did to our KIA. She burnt it up. It got a coolant leak and she was on the interstate. She wasn't paying attention to the gauges and she said it lost power and died. I had never seen an engine with zero compression get turned by the starter. It was unreal how fast it turned. Motor was cashed BTW.

Sounds like a timing belt problem. That would give you no compression, faster than normal engine cranking, and a no start situation. Check you timing marks and make sure your belt is turning the cam.

I agree with him.^ You should double check that timing belt. If it was the coil and you're getting spark, then it would just run poorly or not start but still fire every once in a while. No? Did you check to make sure the rotor didn't fall off the distributor? I had that happen before. Did you look at the codes? If you didn't disconnect the battery, the ECU should give you a clue as to what went wrong. Check it and see what it says.

Could also be that your engine was hot and your wifey drove thru a deep puddle and hot engine + cold water = cracked block, which would make you lose compression im sure?
