The alternator does not charge. I have replaced the alternator with a new (not rebuilt) one, the alternator that was installed on the car when the problem began was like new, less then 1000 miles on it, Tested good at Auto Zone after removing it. New Battery also, battery connections are clear and tight. I have tested fuses under the engine compartment, 40 and 80 amp fuses good. I have tested alternator fuse in the fuse box #4 fuse at the driver side under the dash, tested good. (tested all fuses in fuse box) I have tested the + cable running from the alternator to the + on the battery, tested good. Casing of the alternator is grounded. With the car running the battery light stays on, if you remove the the 4pin connector on the alternator the battery light gos out. Also if you raise the rpm's above 4000 the battery light goes out, I have not been able to confirm if it is charging at this point. I think the problem is in the wiring that runs to the 4pin connector on the alternator and the ELD wire, I just dont know a lot about what each wire does and what to look for. Black/yellow has 12+v - two of the other wires on the connector has 4.8v and 5v this is with the key on. Also the car was charging for a very short time after installing the alternator, tested at the battery terminals 13+ volts with everything in the car turned on. 15 minutes later the car was not charging.
