thats pretty sick.
Alrighty then, do what you wish. Just keep in mind sound deadening is not just for rattle, it's primary use is for blocking out airborne and structurebone noise that may muffle or cancel out music. It is the proper way to start any install, it's basically a preliminary for any SQ. Also it will GREATLY improve the performance of your components once you seal up the doors, creating a better frequency response and clearing up your midbass and midrange. Finally, I completely doubt that you can tune better without the aid of any processor, it's just not possible, you don't have even a fraction of the possibilities and parameters to tweak without one. Processing has almost nothing to do with volume like you are saying, it's ALL about quality. Why do you think some of the most prestigious companies like Alpine F#1 Status make processors that people spend thousands upon thousands of dollars on? Why do you think RTA programs are used to help even the most experienced tuners tune their systems (with their processors). I'm not discrediting your work, and I'm sure your system sounds good (at least to you, which is what is the most important), but I'm letting you know that there is soooo much more you can do, I promise it can get better.I've never been a fan of the "front stage" concept of setting up a sound system. Trying to mimic a live band playing in front of you....that's not how I like my sound. I like to be surrounded by the sound equally front to back, have it all around me evenly, to be engulfed by sound. That's why I did a component set in the rear, so I could mount the tweets up high/aim them at me and raise up the sound in the back instead of only coming from the rear deck.
This system needs no sound processing, it sounds outstanding. I can do all the tweaking it needs with the gains and crossover points. This is a SQ focused system, not a maximum volume system.
Your right, I haven't done any sound deadening except the underside of the rear deck because it's been rattleing on me, but really getting into some extensive sound deadening is next years project.
