I just don't see the point in reissuing the car. It's not like an old classic muscle car, its a 10-15 year old Civic. Why in the world revert to a 10 year old style? Honda doesn't need that to sell cars......maybe the Big3 do, but not Honda. Look at everything else they are doing in the robot world, and even the racing world. One of their selling points is innovative technology. Ford is currently bragging about having variable valve timing on their trucks, welcome to f**king ~15 years ago. Honda does not need to resort to this kind of marketing in order to sell enough products to make a profit, so don't count on them reverting to an old style anytime soon.

:word:

Ford came out with the "throwback", re-vamped Mustang, and the rest of the Bigs jumped on the bandwagon. Their sales were starting to fall, and the success of the Mustang was an easy ticket to push onto the 40-50ish year old guy who drove or wanted that challenger/camaro/mustang back in the day, and could now afford it.

Honda has no need to do such thing.

I must be old. The 4th and 5th gen hatchback styling has WAY more character to my eye than the 6th gen hatch. 6th gen hatch is too anonymous looking.

I would like to re word my original statement to reissue some of the body characteristics of the 6th gens. not just make the same car over again.

The only thing they should bring back from the 6th gen is the double wishbone suspension.

Why don't they keep the same body style....make add a couple tweaks here and there...and beef up the interior to something like today's standards. I would love to see that happen.

It would be a cool idea. I like the sixth gen civic's. There is something about the 90's honda's that I just dig more. The newer civics are okay but they just seem to lack the heart that the 90's civic's have.

I just really don't see it happening. The main reason that it worked for the Mustang, Challenger, and Camaro is because those were from ~40 years ago, and had GREAT styling. The 6th gen is just a plane jane car, there is nothing special about it.

Pretty sure not a single person in this thread would actually buy a NEW reissued 6th gen.

Guess what folks, Honda sells cars to people who buy NEW cars, not used ones.

^^ +1 for this guy, it has only been 10 years and it's just a randomly selected year. There is no reason for Honda to do it.

Put me on the waiting list. I'll be the first to purchase one. Let's get real, the newer civics are no where near the spirit and heart that the 5th and 6th gen civic's have. Now, I feel like they're made and honda doesn't give a f**k about the enthusiast anymore. They just make the civic and market to people who really don't know anything about civics or their history.

C'mon Petey, you're willing to spend $17k on a new 6th gen civic?

The civic's history is being a small cheap economical car that is reliable and gets good gas mileage. They make a version for the enthusiast and it's faster than any factory Civic in the U.S. that came before it.

And most of the enthusiasts don't buy new cars. In fact I don't think a single person in this thread, including me, has bought a brand new car, civic or otherwise.
