Try it and see.. But I say do a write up on it if it comes out good.. I don't have a SOHC anymore, so I could DO it, I got the vc somewhere... If I f**k it up... OH WELL lol

That OptimusPrime design is amazing! Im thinking of doing my own rocker cover and stuff, and know quite alot about paints and prep because im doing a course in vehicle body repair (: i was just wondering what paint you guys used?

Well once you get everything sanded properly go with a high heat primer. I did four coats with a engine primer with ceramic two light one heavy/wet then another light to be safe. Then I think you can use a good variety of paints on top of that. The optimus cover looks air brushed.

Thats Adam, an Admin from EJ8squad, The VC isnt painted. Its vinyl. theres a place where he got it done in Tampa.

PM if anyone wants the info: ill have to look it up.

Okay thanks for that (: and tbh ive looked at the image carefully and it looks like a vinyl. Look at the nearest valve bolt, the paint job doesnt cover it, it seems to just stop like a film, plus where its stopped has white underneath. So yea (: lol

I did mine... Sanded it with a brillo pad... Then cleaned it with rubbing alcohol then sprayed it with high temp gloss black and then OEM green rattle can and then 2 coats of clear! :D Came out ok I guess?

One i did over the summer, 3stage paint, high metallic base, candy pearl (purple) mid coat and 4 coats of clear.

Polished out letters.

bro, i say next step is a quickk sand and black spray paint that fan support, its an eye catcher :shock:
