Underpowering is just as bad as overpowering your speakers if not worse, An underpowered speaker will attempt to draw more power than the amp can give. That power comes in the form of heat and audible distortion which will kill your speakers also.EXSpeedAddict said:yeah its safe enough. depending on your amp, they should sound clearer than if connected to your head unit. What really matters is the RMS power of the amp and the speakers. As long as the RMS power of the amp doesn't exceed the RMS power capability of the speakers you should be fine.
MySiIzFaster said:Also, this should probably be in the Audio/Electronics section.....It has nothing to do with a 6th gen aside from the fact you own one! (I reported it, mods will take care of it)
Just splice the amp speaker wires (out) with the existing OE (factory) wires is the easiest way...... OR remove the OE wires entirely and mount them directly to teh speakers (preferred and not ghetto)...SierraSonic said:So how exactly do you hook up an amp to your internal speakers?
yeah, you'll def get the best results if you do the wiring newMySiIzFaster said:Just splice the amp speaker wires (out) with the existing OE (factory) wires is the easiest way...... OR remove the OE wires entirely and mount them directly to teh speakers (preferred and not ghetto)...
4 channel, and spk wire.SierraSonic said:So would I need a 4 way amp?
Yup yup!!!!!! If you want to make it easy on yourself, buy an Amp wiring kit from BestBuy or something...boricuacvc said:4 channel, and spk wire.
If only I knew what you meant by "why my headunit drops up, my subs miss a beat" I could help......SierraSonic said:Well s**t that coudl make my battery cry, hell sorry to change the topic but would anyone know why my headunti drops up my subs miss a beat, and then they work. I have a capacitor and I thought it would fix the problem... but it didnt, if anything it made it take longer for the amp to get power.
.:edit:.
I FINALLY GOT MEZ AN EDITZ BUTTONZ!!!!
you mean why does it stop working and then start working again?SierraSonic said:anyone know why my headunti drops up my subs miss a beat, and then they work.
Caps dont do anything? Youve been into car audio for about 2 years? It doesnt show. Capacitors are PROVEN to help voltage stability and also gives you a couple more DB's on bass hits b/c there is no voltage sag on the amp therefore its able to put out what its supposed to...Chaos said:what kind a system do u have....and capacitors dont do anything there a waste of money....ive been into caraudio for about 2 years now so if u have any questions go ahead and ask...the only thing i could think is check ur ground? maybe to thin of power and ground wire? get a better battery( like optima) umm...
yea what kind of system do u have? what gauge wire?
best buy... now ur talkin...MySiIzFaster said:Yup yup!!!!!! If you want to make it easy on yourself, buy an Amp wiring kit from BestBuy or something...
A cap is only as good as the alternator that provides the power to it.MySiIzFaster said:Caps dont do anything? Youve been into car audio for about 2 years? It doesnt show. How can you diagnose his problem? Can you translate what he said? If you dont know the prob, you prob shouldnt be guessing at how to fix it. 8)
