no dude!, I'm not going to do this on a stock motor. I'm asking what other internals/balancing I need to do. Oh, yeah, I also have crower springs.
ok, piece of advice...take it if you want...

base your goals with your motor on a power level, not an rpm. reving higher doesnt automatically mean more hp. for the most part, its just an inordinate amount of excess stress on a motor that doesnt need to happen

I have a b16A, I hit 9k all day long, The stock springs in the head won't be able to handle it, I changed the springs and the cams to skunk2's and i make power all the way upto 9000k , Strong power! The bottom end is all stock b16..... As far as the b18 doing that on stock internals i dunno, I know the only reason you can get away with it in a stock b16 is because the rod to stroke ratio is damn near perfect! Really the only reason most people do it is for bragging rights, If you have an engine that makes strong power all the way upto 7k you will beat the guy that makes weak power upto 9k, So really its pointless to have an engine that revs to 9k unless you make strong power all the way there!

have you been on a dyno yet?

im willing to wager that you stop making power around 8k, and it flattens out until 9k. i can almost guarantee that your hp curve does not keep climbing after 8k

honestly man i don't take my car that high very much, No i haven't taken it to dyno and tested it, But when i do take it to 9k it seems to make good power all the way there! There isn't much past 9k though, i

a stock a6 FEELS like it makes power to 8k...but it has been dyno proven to stop making power after 6500. you cant base it on what it feels like, you need a dyno to tell you if it makes power that high

i have a vid posted here of my taking my car upto 9k, U tell me what you think, When i had my b16 cams it didn't make very much power past 8k and b4 the spring i had mucho valve float, Im pretty happy with it now for the most part, I really want CTR pistons to really take advantage of the cams....

there's no such thing as a b16a6....

i was making a point, just because it feels like it makes power that high, doesnt mean it really does

you need a chipped ECU to remove your redline. that is all. go do that. and start revving as high as you want. its not gonna make you any faster. but you'll be revving to 9
