the alpine dva-7996 is way too much.. a pioneer dvh-p5000mp is just as good for a dvd HU and half the price. it can be found brand new for 300-400. that was my choice i had it in my car for only 1 month and in the month i used it less then 5 times because i have xbox in my car then i took it out and put in my old HU in. no point of having a dvd HU when i will never use it. my xbox is stored with over 500 music video and tons of dvd movies. plus my HU is better quality then most of the dvd headunits out there.

Actually the Alpine piece is twice the machine as the pioneer. With the possibility of having every major non f-status processor conected to it. Giving it over a 31 band eq. True 5.1 and time correction for every speaker. Pioneer units do not come close.
And the sq an alpine puts out blows pioneer out of the water.

And the matter of the vents. Dont have the unit open. Do you really need a monitor to listen to music?

i'll put my foldout screen against any members stationary screen... both for performance and for looks

im saying that the pioneer is just as a good dvd playing compared to cheaper brands dvd HU like pyle boss or any of those 100 brands..i seen too many people use crappy hu dvd players. but whats the point of have a monitor and not beable to use it most of the time. having music vids playing gives u the advantage of audio and the visual.

I cant agree with you more. The pioneer is an excellent choice. I know its cheaper than the Alpine but theres a reason that thing is soo expensive.
The reason I wouldnt use a dvd or xbox for music videos is that they dont reproduce the sq a dvd player would

i left my DVD player at the factory location and put the screen by the cubholder.
