yup, as long as it is a D series tranny it will bolt up.

find out wat civic it came from too and let me know, cause if its a EX/Si tranny ur going to notice a decrease in mpg but ur acceleration times will be a little bit better as the gear ratio from those models are shorter then the rest... i dont think too much mpg would be lost but ull notice it holding a little higher in the rpm. doing bout 40 im at 2100 rpm.

if u only knew what my real post count was... it's damn near 30k, since posts in the lounge don't count towards the total....

and uhh, i guess it's from having been here for two years now.

ALL Dseries trannies are interchangable. Just remember to keep cable if you have cable and hydraulic if youu have hydraulic. Personally I prefer 96+ EX trannies because all the shift forks have been upgraded to steel instead of aluminum. ALL EX/Si trannies are geared closer thus faster acceleration. 8)

thats right mr.peabody!!

however the steel forks are THIN and tend to warp/bend and eat the gears

the aluminum ones just shattttter and u are stranded

Yes...i've personally experienced both! Either one pretty much f**ks you up. ALSO one more thing, Rev-Matching is your tranny's BEST FRIEND...use it and you've just lengthened your tranny's life. Happy shifting and try not to mis-shift..hehe 8)

i rev match by bumpin the throttle with the clutch pushed in, press the brake typically for slowing down, and then let out the clutch. it takes a little practice to be SMOOTH with it.

btw that was me on anfreys name earlier

the only reason i know how to double clutch is because my first vehicle (a citroën c15e) had f**ked up synchros....

uhhhh as to rev matching, i've typed up an EXTENSIVE write up on it. so just search. i really don't feel like explaining it again... i even put diagrams in my post. look it up. rev matching is important and essential. i feel so bad for any vehicle that does not get rev-matched on downshifts.

it depends on your technical knowledge. everything is hard before it becomes easy.
