Personally I wouldn't buy an alarm based solely on price, you get what you pay for, no use putting in some crap alarm that any petty thief could easily disable.

Then again I'm paranoid bout that s**t, and a hypocrite as I don't have an alarm on my new car but nor is there anything worth stealing yet.

When I get one I'm going all out though.

I would leave auto-start up to the pro's but that's me. Took em forever to do it in my civic.

Like said before, you get what you pay for. Also, alarms (if you get a good one with lots of features) is not an easy install. The quality of your install has a direct relationship with the safety of your vehicle. Also as said above, I would only trust DEI (viper, clifford, python, etc). I install these things for a living so you can trust my opinion. If you know your installers at your local best buy and know that they do good work (some are s**t and some are great) then honestly get then to do it. You can get a viper 5701 including install for $420. Worth every penny. Plus it's made for manual transmission so it's not someone doing a ghetto and unsafe bypass. It's one of the best alarms available. You make the call, $420 for an alarm, or $4000+ to get a new car....

awesome so you think the clifford matrix's or avital are good the avital i think is like 2somethin i might go with one of theres or hornet, not sure i'll find out tomorrow. ya i'm pretty much gonna use my whole paychck on it but i'd rather use this one than have to save 10 to get another civic, makes sense to me

Avital is not two-way security, it's just remote start.
