I'm obviously no theoretical physicist. The physics facts I mentioned above came from watching a great PBS NOVA series hosted by physicist Brian Greene from Columbia University. If you ever get the chance, watch this amazing series to learn that almost everything you think you know about reality is actually wrong. Here are the 7 episodes I recorded with my EyeTV:

it says nova but thats a mustang wtf???? I didnt say either of those were string or relativity :p

i learned my info from directly from schrodinger, einstein, and brian greene. and a couple physics classes here and there. and several papers I wrote.

edit: that sounds kinda braggy which was unintended. I was just trying to state my love of string theory and quantum physics :D

If I could do life over again, there's a good chance I would have tried to be a physicist. I had 0 interest in physics until a few years ago. Nobody teaches you how awesome of a field it is when you're growing up. The same goes for math in general. Math is so damn useful in so many areas.. and let's you do some pretty amazing things - from physics, to computer graphics, to programming, to engineering / robotics, etc...

Yep.. I definitely would have taken math more seriously, if only I had known.

I never knew how interesting this stuff was until my high school physics class, when my teacher talked about approaching light speed and time slowing down, but by then I had missed so much I didn't have time to make up for my lack of classes focusing on math/science

cept no one will pay you to study string theory. You have to find a job in something practical like astro physics or applied quantum physics and hope you can slant your research into somewhat related topics in the cool parts of physics and then hope you get a grant to study what you really want. I seriously looked into it but when I found out that the chances of actually getting to do research on the really tight theoretical stuff was so small I gave up.

I've always been interested in it, but I'm absolutely TERRIBLE at it.. only class that I ever failed was Engineering Physics I... and if I can't get past that, I sure as hell can't get into anything more advanced

Another year and a half and I'll have my Ph D in Simulation... I think it's too late.

Hey Registered User, are you ready for classes in differential equations, physical chemistry, and quantum mechanics?
Nope, not ready for that right now.
