i'll believe that when i see it... and disconnecting the amp isn't hard...just 3 wires to disconnect. all you need is a screwdriver...
:lol:well it is true, it won't be a big problem if you don't have big spl....but if you are pushing any semi large numbers it isn't a good idea, common sense will tell you that. I would never push something like W7s with the amp mounted on the box, in the long run it WILL shorten the life of you amp.

It's not hard, but damn inconveinent. It can't be good for your wiring either taking them on/off.

also you have to make sure tou like tape up the ends or put a wire cap on so you dont get power...still nconvient if you just need to ring soemthing somewhere.

hes right. the box is the worst place to mount it. Might as well toss your amp in the fryer for a while

Usually under seat placement is reserved for interior amp speakers. Just .02

I have a 4 channel amp and i was curious where i should mount it and how? I told my dad back of the rear seats so in the trunk... and he said you cant just screw it into the seat cause you might 'impale' some one but i think the seat is thick enough... ?

you can screw it right to the back of the seat, just use shorter screws..
never hurts to put some MDF under the carpetin on the back of the seat, that will also give you some space to run/hide wires

Mounting the amp on the sub box is not a good idea. The vibrations from the subwoofers can shake and loosen the capacitors and s**t inside the amp.
WERD......

Mount it to the back of the backseat in your trunk.....

VERY common misconception.... - really depends on the material the box is made of and if the box is correctly built - i don't know of ANY sub that will make 3/4" MDF flex enough to do any kind of damage to an amplifier mounted on the box itself.... now about the easy to steal point - that is true....

Verbal, if I may...............

Its not the point that it 'flexes' too much, its the vibration that goes through it when its essentially mounted to the baffle. Now if oyu mount it on gromets or something, that might be better. But it still tranmits enough vibration to possibly do damage. =)

best amp location is ontop the roof, good air flow keeps it cool. tricky part is drillin the holes through the roof and headliner but its worth it IMO, ;)
