I did back in 2000 and it put me in the hospital for a week with pneumonia.

but after that was done and over with, I couldn't even stand being around cigarette smoke.

You already heard my story. But just go find something to do to keep your mind off of it, preferably something that is healthy like going to the gym, swimming or running. Find a new vice to replace the old one.

I quit cold turkey, and haven't had a cigarette in about 5 years.

I'm trying to quit as well, not for the hell of it, but since im starting phase two of my fitness transformation, which will require a lot of cardio, ill be needing my lungs 100%. I'll be smoking again in about 6 months or so though =)

:biz:

Good luck bro!

Well I stopped on Thanksgiving haven't had one since then. I get cravings like a mother f**ker though. Not sure how long this is going to last.

My resolution last year was to quit smoking and minus a 2 or 3 week patch in June, I did. It was cold turkey, had my last smoke right before midnight dec 31 2009 and kept it up until around June ish where I couldn't help myself to a few packs of Stogies after my birthday. You'll definitely be happier with your decision once you quit though.

I tryed many times last year I went for a week without one but I was wearing a 25mg patch as soon as I had no patches left I was back to a pack a day.
Gonna try again this week to quit and the money I save will goto fixing the civic.

Try quitting for a week. Every time you think you would go buy cigs just put that money away, at the end of the week go out to dinner to reward yourself. Couple people in my family did this an it helped a lot.

easy cure for this is to now smoke in the first place.... i have never touched a single cig before... and im 27.. my mom smoked till i was 26... my grandmother still smokes... shes 74....

now i do get :biz: but i hardly classify that as harmful as smoking cigs... and i can stop today and be totally fine with it

i just have no idea on how some people who cant afford gas in their car... can keep affording to smoke..

i cant afford to get a haircut.. so i know i cant afford to smoke cigs.

Cigarettes are expensive as hell. Here in NJ they are ~$8 a pack. A pack a day turns into $3k a year. I don't know about you guys, but I don't have green paper to burn like that.
