Automatic looks like manual?

Hey guys I am new here to Clubcivic.com and I actually just got a Civic a couple of days ago. Unfortunately I got mine Civic in Auto. I have heard and seen some picture that you could make it look manual by putting in a shift boot and knob to make it appear like a manual....does anyone know anything about this?

You could do it, but IMO if you have an auto, you have an auto. No need to mask it. You can tell it's an auto when it shifts, by your gauge cluster and the fact that you only have 2 pedals. I have an auto. I know it's not gonna make a lot of power so I don't bother. It's a Honda and with proper maintenence, it'll probably run forever.

honestly i was kinda embarassed to show people or tell people i had an auto at 1st but no one really cares... so dont worry about it, especially at my age because only like 1 out of every 10 or so people even know how to drive a manual

i remember turbozinc had a manual looking shift boot on his auto. looked pretty good imo, not tacky at all.

I put a CTR shift boot on my automatic but not to make it look manual, just to make it look better.

ok.. in response to the "we'll see" posts, let me clarify myself.

An auto civic turbo = teh lose because one of three things is going to happen.
1. You blow the f**k out of your tranny because you boosted too high and didnt build your tranny up
2. You boost low and the turbo pretty much becomes a waste of money
3. You spend an assload of money on building your tranny and boost high.

The only semi good result comes from spending a shitload of cash. Good luck with it if you do go for it though....
