Yeah I figured that much...but I wanted to see if anyone else had it done here and see how they did it....with the mounting the boot cause the rest seems like common sense.
I ordered a real Civic Type R shift boot off of eBay and then you unscrew the center console and the piece that has the P R N D1 D2 D3 on it can uscrew (it's obvious when you see it) and the shift boot attaches to the console with the little tabs or whatever they were that come on the shift boot. If you buy a universal aftermarket boot I don't think it will look very good but if you go OEM or at least application specific it should look good. I kept my stock shift knob though cuz it seems like the aftermarket ones for automatics are all cheap.

You should just buy an manual though, seriously. If you get a boot all they will have to do is look at the dash. If they don't see the dash they will see the pedals, if they don'[ see the pedals they will tell by how it shifts.

Why you worried about what people think anyway though? I got a auto, f**k it.

That sounds like a good idea if you are going to do anything. The OEM parts will give you the best fitment and you'll be happier in the end. I hate it when aftermarket parts just fall short of fitting right w/o modification.

Good luck and post up pics.

If you need pics on how it looks, I think page 2 on this thread has'em.

You'd only fool people that didn't know anything about Civics.

i woul ddefinitely laugh at u for doing that though..but ths just me...
and imo if its auto leave the shyt alone..
it's tacky and cheezy to do what people on here have done...jus my opinion...
u want a stick go buy one...

I had an 93 EX coupe with a automatic, stuck on a 100 shot NOS direct fogger kit and BOOYAAH, we were smokin' fools and all non-believers(high 13's and low 14's)..........than the NOS external fuel pump died and so did the valves, so I bought another motor for $350, and dropped in a Greddy turbo kit.............new fuel pump and bigger injectors with alot of tuning netted low 13's............getting to the 11's and 12's is a whole new story..........I was never ashamed of havin' an auto, but messin' with people's heads is always fun..............got an oversized after-market shift boot and took the center console out slid the boot over the top and than the center console back over it, it fit tight enough in between the two(center console and shift selector) to where it didn't move, than I went and purchased a push down type auto shift knob, when that was finished, I dropped in an EX manual instrument cluster so it didn't have the gear selector in my face, at the races I'd flip the floormat up over the pedals and fools couldn't tell, than we'd line up, one foot on the brake, one on the gas.............pushing down until the boost comes online.......slide your foot off the brake and hit the gas......and GOODBYE. Seeing the look of disbelief when I pop the hood open and YES they could tell by the way it shifted as I pulled away, but as long as I pulled away I didn't care..............as long as it's a Civic you still get my respect....just don't rice it out.................................Peace

who cares, he's not hiding it he just wants it to look better IMO if i had an auto i'd do the same mod cause it looks good not the fact that im hiding its an auto. Plus people will know its an auto anyway by how slow it is
