My opinion. Not a lot of people have an a4 (that's why you'll have to excuse all of the people scratching their heads) so thumbs up for origionality. Hope to see pics of the swap soon! Good luck on the swap and the price, to me, is about right (a little high but that's what you expect when paying for labor). What's the mileage on the engine?

Thanks for the love! I figured it was a tad high in price but they were the only ones that seemed trustworthy in the area. I think the engine has a lil over 15k on it. I really like that about it. I promise to post pics as soon as I get it back. Right now he is in the process of rewiring the harness to fit my car cause the harness is made for a right driver side jdm civic. I can't wait to get it back...I'm already dreaming about the first time I hit v-tec with the new swap!

I have no idea about that. I never heard anything of that sort, although you may be right!

YES SIR!!! And I am happy for getting it. That and the fact that the engine is something different. I haven't seen this swap anywhere yet. I'm sure it has been done but I just haven't seen it. I hope and pray everything turns out cool!

should have spent couple extra hundreds for a b18c, b16 is a good start but the 1.8 is all around better. a b16a4 is no differ then other SIR II engine..the b16a4 just came from the asia domestic market.

High City...I am calm...and have been calm the whole thread. But answer me this, why are you replying to a post that was 2-3 pages back? Read the rest of the thread homie! And when I said opinions and advice, I meant about my car, not my temper :angryfire . This is clubcivic.com.....not a soap opera....if you can't give the info I need or have any type of construstive criticism towards what is most important....CIVICS....then I have to tell you, take that s**t somewhere else. But if you want to give me some ideas or anything of that sort, I would be more than happy to listen to what you and/or anybody else has to say. Until next time....HOLLA!!

Well guys I finally got my car back. For the time being it is not running 100% because the Typre R ecu that they sent with the swap was bad. So I am currently running off of my stock Ex ecu. I have no V-tec so it is kind of a tease everytime I drive my car. So now when I drive, it starts to sputter at 5200 rpm's as it tries to engage vtec. It also throws a check engine light. It sounds good though for the most part. I just can't wait to get the ecu in the car. Hopefully when the ecu is installed everthing turns out ok. I'll keep ya posted.....and pics are on the way VERY soon!!

Wow, I learn something new everyday! I was about to post about the 4 but somebody answered my question before I did. I would say a good choice. Nice starting power and a lot of potential. Good idea to put a header on with the swap, its not bad to do after, but might as well as long as the engine is out of the car!

 Whoa, not good. Try not to drive it very much if at all, and when you do dont hit that mark. Any sputtering means that something is being worn out on the VTEC engager. You definitely dont want to have to do some major work to it right after you got it back!!!

Good lookin out "Push". I have just been driving it to work and granny shifting the whole time. I accidently ran that high a few times. Everything should be aight though when I get my ECU next week. Thanks for the advice though mang! :D
