back on topic, i think your going to need a bigger turbo than the 57 and 60 trim. they might get the job done but bearly. a 60-1 or an sc61 woudl be a better choice.

600whp? why not just do a little investment, and sleeve it? A day with a bad spark plug or too much crank preasure and there goes the engine.

why risk it though. at those level it takes very little and your motor is worthless. at that point no matter how good of a tune u have its enough stress on its own to crack those sleeves. i would never want that in the back of my mind when im driving at 600+whp.

sure its possible but how long will it last...
Im not going to make this thread into my 600whp build. So this is the last im going to say about it. If the motor cracks a sleeve then it cracks a sleeve. I have seen enough 500-600whp stock sleeve engines from Jeff, im confident in my engine building capabilities, and after talking with him about it im plenty confident that this motor should last a decent amount of time. Hell their drag car ran 81.5mm stock sleeves in the 650whp range i believe for 2 seasons (i might be wrong on the time), but after that the sleeves were pretty out of round. Typically all the sleeves I have seen crack for the most part (most part) the heads were fine, and rods fine. Just "typically" take the piston with it. (now thats comming from the 3 cracked sleeve motors i have personally seen). My last turbo setup lasted a whole 6 months before im back where I am now and looking for more power. I have no intentions on keeping this ls/vtec setup for more than a year at max, and right about that time is where the stock sleeves will probably start to get pretty out of round. Its will be a daily driver, but when I have another EG to drive and a bike, I can manage with the car being down for a little while.

Now this will probably sound pretty stupid to some people, but hey there is no point to spend the close to $1000 for a sleeved and bored block when I will probably be on a new setup within a year and looking the the 800whp range, because its comming.

sorry jason to thread jack here

2 seasons?
they ran that for a couple months late last season not even sure they ever ran it down the track at full boost. they switched to the 560whp 30r setup about 2 or 3 months max after they dynod the first setup.

im not trying to rip on your decision or try to start an argument but u know its pushing the envelope, i wouldnt expect it to last a season. like jason said one bad plug, one injector acts up for a moment, some bad gas, one bad boost creep/spike and your motor is toast. ive got a sleeved 613whp gsr motor, at those levels even sleeved one small, sometimes uncontrollable, detail could be the end.

wish u luck, dont want to see your investment go down the drain is all.

i agree. $1k sleeves at the 600whp level is alot of assurance. where i am at (400whp area) i feel safe without them, but thats a different story. how much are you gonna have in a rebuild when something goes wrong? why not spend $1000 and have it done right, the first time, and have less to worry about

Quoted straight from Jeff Evans in my PM's.

"Stock sleeves will hold up, but overtime the sleeve will get out of round, unlike a iron sleeve. Our stock sleeve motor lasted 2 seasons of racing, at 550-600whp and taking the engine to around 10,000 rpm. Towards the end of the seasons the leakdown got worse and worse, to the point where the motor wasnt making any power. On tear down the sleeves were out of round about 0.002~0.003". If you arent going to run it at high power, and not turning high rpm than you shouldnt have any issues for awhile. 0.020" overbore isnt an issue, in fact that is how i build all my stock sleeve motors for customers."

Anymore questions PM me....im pretty bored and looking for a debate
