ahh i love this motor lol, its definitely a fun little first car. i should post a build thread sometime soon...lol. anyway so i think i figured out all my little dilemmas. I think i'll get the Injen short ram for my car. then for header, maybe DC Sports. exhaust im gettin a magnaflow hi flow cat, magnaflow muffler, probably 2.5" piping and I've got sick MOMO dual tips i'm throwin on it. and the throttle body I probably won't do, unless one stumbles by me for really cheap. Oh by the way, is a header for my dohc zc really worth it? the stock exhaust manifold on this motor looks really nice already...It goes 4-2-1, it looks like i wouldn't see a whole lot of gains from aftermarket...what do you guys think?

the factory DOHC ZC exhaust manifold works really well - as good or better than most aftermarket headers - the only drawback is that is pretty heavy, but no big deal

ughh i'm freakin out. I gotta get an exhaust system soon but I'm really having second thoughts on Magnaflow. What do you guys think I should do? Grab a different universal muffler with piping or get a pre-made system or what? I just don't want a can, and 95% of universal mufflers like skunk2/hks/apex'i and stuff are cans...Only one i've seen that isn't is the Apex'i WS2 but it's supposed to be realllly quiet. I want a bit of sound to it...what should i do

have you thought about just getting the HKS cat-back, looks almost close to a stock Si exhaust, just the pipeing and tips are a bit bigger then stock, but alot more of a aggressive sound.

Here check out his thread.

yea that was the first exhaust I wanted, until I found out it wasn't stainless steal. I live in Canada and it snows a lot and they put salt on the roads and stuff. I could just see it rotting out in no time. but thanks for the help

just a thought, but couldn't you just paint it with rust-o-leum paint, lol, or something lik that to prevent it from rusting, or and yeah i know these next 2 idea's are costly, get it powder coated or coated in ceramic :what:

does anyone know if the Invidia N1 exhaust for 88-91 civics replaces the stock cat? I swear I heard somewhere it did, but I'm not too sure. I just want to know because if it doesn't, I'm gonna get a magnaflow high flow cat.

also, which magnaflow hi flow cat should I get? I'm looking at one that is 2" in/out and it says it's good to use on my car, but the exhaust I'm getting 2 1/4" piping. should I get the 2" one meant for my car, or get the 2 1/4" one because of my exhaust? the part numbers are 53004 (2.0") and 53005 (2 1/4").

if it does that would be a first, i can't ever remember a time when any theoretical Cat-Back ever replaced a cat, thus why they call the a cat-back, meaning from the cat all the way to the back.

Yea, that's what I was thinking. I actually found a picture of it and it doesn't look like it does. Where it ends there is right where it'd enter the cat I think.
