you guys dont think the y7 could handle 5-6 psi? there is a guy on cardomain that has a turbod y7, dynod at 170 hp...auto tranny too untill just recently. that was kinda my inspiration lol.
i'm sure it could, for how long, idk.and how reliable, idk.do some research like it looks as if you already have, but keep looking and talk to people who've done it, just dont set yourself up for a shitty situation is all im saying

i'm still saying go with the y8 swap, then boost later.if you did that, yeah you'd spend a couple hundred bucks more in the end after boosting, but it'd be alot better and more reliable on a y8 rather than y7.

yeah i would love to swap in a y8, its definantly an option. but its so much hassle for a swap, i would only do it if i could get it for CHEAP, cause if i payed a normal price i would be kicking myself in the balls for not just saving for a b18..

news flash h23vtecturbocock, y7 and y8 rods are the same EVERYTHING
y7 and y8 blocks are the same
only difference are the heads and the pistons (on the shortblock),
SO BASICALLY a y7 can take as much punishement as a y8
and u can run 220 whp dafely on any d16

before you go being an immature d**k stain and calling me names, show me proof of a stock y7 w/220 whp SAFELY for an extended period of time, and while your at it, lead me in the direction of proof that a y7 block is exactly the same as a y8.thanks darling

y7 has thinner rods... dont get boost happy on stock internals.... I'd suggest building the block FIRST.... that way you won't end up broke without a car as opposed to broke with a slow car 8)
ravage, also call him a cock while your at it hunny buns

1200 is enough to buy a good used kit. Check ebay and brows the classifieds here, turbod16, honda-tech and place like that and you find a good one. If not read up on the thiings you need, its cheaper to peice together one, but it takes a while.
Some things youll need:
turbo
Intake mani
charge pipe
down pipe
vaccum hoses
feed line
return line

thinks thats about it.
an intake manifold isnt needed at all

wow you just killed his low budget project  and i hope you werent referring to me being a "kid nowadays".face it, y7s are s**t, and if you do decide to listen to 1sckcvc, dont come crying to me when you have no running car at all after running ATLEAST 8-9 psi daily "without problems" on a stock y7  .tuned or not, bad decision.someone back me up since i know what i'm talking about .....
I hate to say it but he's right.....all turbo y7's ive seen have tried to run 8-9 psi but end up trashin or leaking and s**t and then only able to spool like 3-4 psi......if you're lucky

if you want help from me then pm me and ill go into more detail with what i suggest you do. if not then i guess youll have to stick with the "low budget" setup and do swaps and all kinds of other happy horseshit that you dont need.

one of my boys boosts 1 bar on a y7 with stock internals with greddy kit tuned with hondata s100b. said it before and ill say it again...its all about tuning. h23 can stick to the h23's cause he apparently doesnt know s**t about d16's.
