It can be done but most installers will not do it since the car can be left in gear. Its more of a safety issue than anything else.ashtrey634 said:damn, seems like the best and popular choice is the viper 791. you cant put a remote start in a stick?

i thought all that had to be done was bypassing the clutch thing...so you dont have to step on the clutch to start the car...Akiahara96 said:two, they don't want remote starts on manuals 'cuz people are f**king retarded and don't understand what has to be done if you want it on your 5spd.
.
The 791 has most of what you need. I recommend considering a proximity sensor add on, piezo interior siren, BUT MOST OF ALL if you are going to put one add on to a car alarm, get the generic DEI backup battery siren, it has a built in rechargeable battery that charges off the cars electronics and has a special cut key that is one of a kind for it, and if a thief cuts the cord from that backup battery siren to the alarm unit it will continue going off for 20 to 30 minutes. Model number of it is DEI 515R00Civ1c said:I work at Best Buy car audio as a salesman and I find it hard to believe that and 18 year old is an installer there? Oh well my favorite would be the Viper 791XVR, and I don't know who said it but I'm pretty certain you can't have auto start in a manual. Though besides that the 791 has everything you would need without a doubt.

That is the exact way NOT to do it. With the clutch bypassed the car could be started in gear.chadi said:i thought all that had to be done was bypassing the clutch thing...so you dont have to step on the clutch to start the car...
The 791xv boasts a one-mile range too, never tried compustar, i have stuck to dei on both my civics they are incredibly reliablexxsenceo89x said:i got the compustar 2wss as off ebay. i installed it myself and it wasnt that hard
the only thing i dont like is that you cant lock and unlock from a mile away like they claim but if your alarm goes off and your a mile away the pager will alert you.
ive heard amny good things about dei products. i was gunna go with the viper 791 but i saw the range on the compustar and jumped on it
haha it says on their disclaimer that one mile range is measured in an area with no obstructions, no buildings just wide open area. Of course it aint gonna work a mile from inside a buildingAkiahara96 said:one mile range is retarded. so, goodie, you know if your s**t is going off that far away.. what're you gonna do? run a mile to get to your car in time to watch the guys run away with your s**t?
it also won't work that far away if you're in a building. imo, if they say it does, they lie. i'll believe it when i truly see one work that far away in a building.
