Block Guard ?

weaker sleeves, block guards can cause hot spots and can cause sleeves(stock) to crack.

i just dont like block guards, i would rather post the block the use a gaurd
yea also heard that they restrict the coolant also, but never really looked into block guards too much

post the block? seems like you know a lot more about these than i do. What options do i have? pros/cons?

well s**t, those only hold up to 20 psi? looks like my only option to run it safely is sleeves

stock sleeves will be fine. guys run upwards of 24 psi on them.
not like your goign to be running 400hp all day everyday, thats just stupid.

my boy LS has a block and its run good and doesent heat up...the block guard purpose is to reduce vibration or play of the sleeves.which is good....

...how do you know it doesnt have hot spots? its not gonna show up on the temp gauge.

I have block guard on my SOHC and ive put 15psi before on mine but im currently running 12 psi ..... i know is not 20 but im sure it can hold it with good tunning....and Bigger injectors.

i run 15+ psi on my a6 with a t3/t4 60trim with unsupported sleeves. never had a problem. the 405hp vitara sedan was running 25+ with unsupported sleeves. blockguards are not always necessary

eagle makes good block guard and are flow proven to not reduce almost any flow of coolent also KMS thier good too.
