sorry but im no idiot, just because i removed what seems to be a useless part to the intake. being it still had a filter and it never ran hot... and in fact it ran better with it off then on.

My hatch came with a CAI, but isn't your filter in the box you removed or is it in the box in the picture?I removed the extra air box thing and the hose leading to the Air filter
If you run without the filter, you will get all kinds of crap into your engine, unless you run it on a clean track.
And judging by how dirty the engine bay is, I have a feeling youre getting crap into your engine.
I have a Injen CAI FS if you want it.

that i have circled in red contained no filter.... just a empty box i still have it to... and the hose pipe thing.... so i was getting less air...
so this is what i thought about when i took it off.....
Less slightly colder air..... or way more slightly hotter air......
and their was a feelible difference in the removal of it.
