This is how it showed up. Very fast shipping. Ordered the 27th, received 30th.
The box was a little trashed, so I was slightly worried the jack would be damaged. Thankfully, it was packed very well on the inside.
Minimal assembly required, just putting on the handle, basically. It was ready to go as soon as the handle was on.
I brought it up and down a couple times. Going down the first few times, it made a loud screech. I'm guessing the grease distributed after that, because it doesn't really make any noise anymore.
As you can see, it sits pretty high at its max height. One thing I noticed while messing around with it is that the package claims that the saddle can swivel 360 degrees, but it seems to be fixed in reality. Also, the jack feels kind of loosely put together, but it wasn't having any functionality problems. Then I took it out in the garage. Since I was worried about the height, I tested it on a Mercury Villager. Sorry guys, haven't tried it on a Civic yet. Here it is at max height under the villager:
As compared to the old Crafstman one I was using, it's much easier to maneuver around my tight garage. It's very light for a jack of its size (only 45 pounds w/ handle), and the wheels roll well. One problem was that the handle has about 20-25 degrees before it starts to lift. If you're trying to lift close to a wall, you might have some issues. The max height was plenty for the Villager.
If the height was fine for a minivan like that, it should definitely be good for a Civic. And the jack sits very low at 3.25" minimum height, so it should fit under slammed Civics just fine. I'll let you guys know when I lower mine about 2-2.5" how the jack copes.
Overall, I'm liking this jack. Compared to the advantages, the disadvantages are rather minor. I'll try and keep you guys updated if anything happens with it. If you don't hear anything from me, it's still working reliably!
Pros:
Lift range: 3.25"-18.25"
Lightweight, moves well
2 ton (plenty for a Civic, fine for most cars)
Padded handle at the bottom, rough at the top for better grip.
Price
Sexy.
Cons:
Feels loosely put together
Handle has to be angled about 20-25 degrees before lifting starts
Was squeaky out of the box, but went away
Saddle does not swivel like packaging says
