For that mileage, you could probably find it cheaper. I paid 6k for my car and it had 95k miles on it, and is an 03. Your boss is giving you 5k for a car? Nice.

What kind of job do you have? Do you do a lot of driving for your job?

Just keep looking. I mean its not like its totally common to see them go for cheaper, but it definitely happens.

ive searched and the ones that go below 100k miles go for around 8/9 k though but ill keep searching

01-03 civics have severe transmission problems and usually need rebuilding. the clutch packs grind themselves to pieces. 04-05 seem to be better but they still have issues.

hmm.....so you do not recommend an 01-03........but my price range is only from 5k-6k i dont want to ask him for more(figured i can add 1k).......is it constant issues with the car or?

im just saying its a gamble with the automatics it has nothing to do with not changing the ATF fluid either its just faulty . do you have mechanical abilities can you rebuild the trans if so they sell a racing overhaul kit for $250 dollars the will virtually last forever under stock conditions.

http://www.compperformancegroupstores.com/store/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=TC&Product_Code=559100&Category_Code=MasterRacingOverhaulKits

and the VP is the same as the DX but it has a CD player and AC no VTEC

hmmm well i have worked on my 98 lx but not on the transmission
but my dad is a mechanic so maybe thatll work. I thought the DX also had AC? and well im thinking about the 04 vp black one the one i posted earlier 90 k miles for 7k i think its a good deal for what i have seen. Considering everybody elses comments and reviews on 7th gens they seem to not have too much problems with em :what:

nope not really the only other problems with 7th gens are the front lower compliance bushings get some energy suspension poly and your good also be careful with the trunk and gas door release the wire tends to break. i have a 2004 VP also the only thing that sucks is no power windows . last thing 90,000 is due for timing belt, water pump, tensioner and everything that goes with it.

I still think you can find a better deal than that, but then again if your boss is paying for it...go for it.

that black one looks pretty clean though. throw some tinting on there, black rims with a chrome lip, drop it, have that b***h sitting right.

but idk if your manager wants you to do that.

then again idk why he'd want to be driven around in an 04 civic. if hes as baller as hes trying to show he is he'd throw in an extra 5 grand or something... shiiiiiiiit

Well it sounds to me like this is just a gift?

ah ya my bad, he said its a gift.

but hell ya that's pretty cool, I wouldn't mind having a clean 7th gen on the side. considering the gas mileage he'll get too.

Out of all those, the last one is the best. It may be a sedan, but its definitely the best price/mileage. And it just had the timing belt and water pump done.

yes sir i did search craigslist i dont mean to be picky but i do prefer a coupe ex with less than 100k miles on it, proven hard to find now but i think the dealers will negotiate if i tell them i have 6.5k cash on em and i want to drive out of here with it :D

I would suggest against getting a car the first year that model was produced.
