The one I line up against I'll bet GOOD MONEY says it isnt a factory freak. Thats ONE camullet than ran a 12.89 how many were produced? so yeah I'll take that bet ANY day

Of course, no automaker does. the site i pulled those from refer to Car and Driver, Road and track verified numbers. Its not what the factory puts out its what it runs.

I only see 1, and your claim now, 2 that have done it. id it fair to say they can.. not really. I'll stand at the strip for a whole year betting each person cant get into the 12's so really, no. I personally wouldnt use 'can' b/c its SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO rare for it to happen. Its an anomoly more than anything.

check out my brothers ls1. On the quarter he managed high 13's in stock form. Now with all his mods exhuast , power programmer , bbk TB , and a intake he can bairly get into high 12's. Just thought you guys would like a verify from someone who rides in one atleast once a day. The only two cars to have takin this 98 z down on the streets were a old 80's mustang with a 410 gear ratio with a 100 shot thing tops at 110 something and a built all motor h22a eg civic. The driver was a 50 year old mexican claiming he had 270hp all motor " im sure the camaro would of flew by his ass at higher speeds but from 0 to 100 the camaro was right next to it but the civi still had a 2ft lead before we had to shut down for traffic. A week later I bought a 92 cx and now I got a 91hatch.

the ls1 is a far superior powerplant com pared to the dodge srt or the hondas engine on variable that nobody has mentioned is that a bone stock ss camaro still has a gvwr of almost 3000 lbs, until you actually open an ls1 from all of the stock limitations gm puts on it yes there will always be the srt or the h22 that has boost that will make the camaro look like a fool but with a cam intake headers exhaust and a program you can open up an ls1 to well over the 400 hp mark which with the right gear driver and tires will get you into the high 11's

furthermore all you have to do is add about oh say a twin turbo setup and a head job and you can move that horspower mark of an ls1 up in the 1,000-1,600 hp range


theres always one saying that will end the discussion on ohh my ls1 is faster than your D16 is that "theres no repalacement for dispalacement" one exception is boost and that cant always make up for your lack of C.I. its apples and oranges.

Yeah I looked at the article, im not doubting your voracity. But you are missing the point. In post #3 you stated stock they could pull 12's, thats not true. There was 1 camullet that did it one time. Otherwise they are a half second to a full second slower (SS and Z28 respectively). You dont see Chevrolet claiming they can run 12's....why not, cause they dont.

obviously if it did once that means it can. that it is possible. maybe not most of the time but it is capable of it

yea those other vids on that site keep f**king up as well, nice srt-4 vid, even though it was a stock evo that ran slower than stock, but hey. notice how the srt schooled even the awd off the line. that site sucks, the videos are all weird
