Colorado Native Lager
http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/17948/57348
For being a beer brewed by AC Golden Brewing (Coors, Miller) it still has a very personal feel.

It's a lager beer with American hops commonly found in American India Pale Ales from what I've read. This gives it a slightly different Lager taste, perhaps that's the "personal" feel that I think this beer has. Good beer for winter (even though it's November and still 70 degrees here in Colorado Springs). It's strange wearing shorts to the liquor store and seeing the Winter Seasonals starting to hit the shelves.

^ BTW, that is not my photo. Used with Google search's permission :-D.

I picked up a 6 of Sam Adam's Winter Lager. I'm generally not a fan of most Sam Adam's varieties, but I really like the winter lager. They have two other winter seasonals that I'd like to try (Old Fezziwig Ale & Holiday Porter) if they are anything like their winter lager.

Their holiday 12 pack is amazing from what I hear...and their winter lager has some changes to it since the previous years. Old Fezziwig is amazing, along with the chocolate bock! I wish they'd offer fezziwig in 6 packs.

I'm having some Sierra Nevada Celebration tonight. Looking to pick up a sixer of Anchor Christmas Ale this weekend:

I don't drink often anymore. When I do I usually will only have one of two drinks. I will have ace pear which is a fermented cider. It is tasty drink. It has a strong sweet taste and it a pale ale. The other is Stella artois.

I need to start enjoying beer...... Maybe it's hard to like when the only beer I drink is usually the cheapest beer you can find in the store..

For me it's quality over quantity. And usually the Beers I like..are 6-10% alc. A couple will get ya goin'.

Usually sixers of Sierra Nevada, DogFish Head, Same Adams, ballast point, Smuttynose, etc are usually 7.99-9.99...not bad for the quality of beer that it is. Sierra's Celebration 12 pack is only like 14.99...awesome price for a great American IPA.

Beer is a great thing to explore, so many different kinds out there. Find one what styles you like the most!

I haven't met anyone yet who straight up doesn't like beer. Often times, they think they hate it, but then I find something they like. There are so many different types and flavors. Please god, get away from the bud light and try something more exciting. What don't you like about beer? Is it the bitterness? The general flavor? Both of those can be fixed.

My ex hated beer so much. The smell, taste, carbonation. She wouldn't even give me a kiss if I had drank a beer lol

Too many people are so used to the commercialized "beers" they see that they usually don't realize what beer is. But he came to the thread, so he's got to have some kind of interest. I also enjoy converting friends into beer drinkers. It encourages me to try new types and varieties as well.

Tonight I'm enjoying a La Fin Du Monde (9% ABV) from Unibroue in Quebec, Canada. Mmm.. delicious. That's all I'lll say, if you find one, or any of Unibroue's varieties, get it! Read the back for some detail, but I have yet to find one beer from them I didn't thoroughly enjoy.

Agreed. It IS fun converting people. So far, I've found that most beer haters who want to get into beer (the ones I've met) seem to like seadog blueberry wheat. I've converted a few non-beer drinkers with that one. It's simple, not bitter but full of flavor, and very sweet. Another one that I think would do the job for just about anybody is a good lambic (Lindeman's framboise specifically.) If you hate beer because of its bitterness or flavor, try one of those two.

La Fin Du Monde - I picked it up once just because the name was awesome. For those who don't know, it means "The End of the World" in french. They've got a few other really cool named ones. Personally, I can't stand a beer with a high alcohol content. Literally makes me sick when I try to drink it. So many people do love them though. For those who are interested in getting into beer, it's mandatory that you try one of these. Especially if you typically enjoy the flavor of alcohol.

I'm going to need to make a run to my Whole Foods soon and see what kind of winter seasonals they have out.

Exactly...there's so many different styles of beer out there. Myself, I'm an IPA fan..love da hops. I'm trying to get more into stouts and porters since winter is coming up, and I feel like it'd be nice to sip on a nice stout/porter while watching the snow fall. The last time I had that kind of style, was in the middle of summer...didn't pair to well with me LOL.

This week, I wanna stock up on seasonals. I gotta pick up some more SN Celebration, Anchor Christmas, ST Old Man Winter, the Sam Adams holiday 12 pack, ST Krampus, Great Lakes Christmas Ale.

I just had some Smuttynose Winter Ale..

It was very different from what I've recently been having...and my first beer using crystal hops.

Try it out, it's very, very smooth, a lot of roasted malts, low on the IBU (international bitterness units) scale, only 5% ABV and the flavor is pretty complex.

I'm good with a nice Yuengling. I'm not the biggest beer fan, and they don't sell it here in MA, so I have to go over to NY to get it.. probably one of my favorite beers though.. hopefully I'll get to a little more experimenting this year, but then again I'm going back to college... so most likely not. :what:

Genuine - Guinness Extra Stout is where it's at. I love an extra stout while relaxing at night. The first time I had it, I almost sucked my face in due to bitterness. It was definitely an acquired taste. Now, I love it. One of my favorites.

^^Yuengling is one of my favorite beers out of the crappier beer category. That and Michelob Amberbock. Try Amberbock, you might like it. College is where I discovered beer.. real beer. You just have to start bringing your own six to parties.

^^I tried that a couple weeks ago. Definitely doesn't fit my taste buds. I had a couple sips and had to throw it out. On the plus side, it's a pretty awesome looking bottle.. so I have it sitting on the counter until I find something to do with it. lol.

Currently enjoying a Guinness Extra Stout... the post earlier made me crave one.

Have you tried any of Sierra Nevada's Stout or porter? Great Divide makes one called Yeti..then there's Southern Tiers Choklat or Jah*Va

^^I have not. I've tried sierra nevada pale ale and that's about it (one of my favorites). Sounds like I have some new beers to try.

I'll be heading to whole foods in the next few days to pick up some new seasonals to try. I'm actually really excited.
