Haha...

Final was 197.4whp and like 134.7tq. It wanted to keep up on the top but we had to shut it down since the valve train is stock ITR. After it hits VTEC the HP just climbs...lol. =)

Not bad, bolt ons and simple cams got you right around the flywheel rated power :drive:

That's pretty impressive. How's it feel on the street? Noticeably more powerful?

Its not any crazy insane power over the ITR as the profile isnt huge over the ITR. The Toda A's are stock valve train safe within normal limits or the R. They make power longer thats for sure and if I put in aftermarket springs/retainers I'd be able to walk it out a little further. And I needed a tune regardless. I wasnt running the stock computer that came the with swap. And on the streets, I dont really get into it except as needed for like dealing with idiots on the on/off ramps on the highway...lol. Street is just chill driving. The tune did more for me on the street than the cams. And I didnt spend "New" Toda money...lol. I bought the Toda cams/gears second hand. Plus I sold my 96 ITR cams to the guy on the dyno behind me the next day...lol. That in its self paid for my tune. And the 01 ITR cams I've got FS are pending sale this weekend which will make up just over half of what I have in the Toda. So its all good! =)

Ok, so I was FINALLY able to get back on the track! I was rusty having been on the side line most of the year but it was very enjoyable! Car feels great, very planted...not that I actually changed anything suspension wise. The power is VERY smooth through the band and very controlled. It was great before but the little bump from the cams and actually getting tuned has smoothed it out very nicely. Its perfect for what I do on the short tracks. I would expect the same on a road course since the time is spent higher RPM as well where the most power is made.

Enough of the talk, but feel free to ask any questions...lol.

Not the final sheet but you can see roughly where we finished at and the band...

One of the pulls (a total of 4 short clips were posted on my YouTube channel @ mportedcivicsi)

Race day! Fourth run (front end is long because there is a BMW on course that goes kind of crazy...lol. Owner wanted me to share it with him.)

Have you run any of the same tracks/courses since the cams and tune to compare before and after?

Autocross courses are never the same. But I did race Sunday, where the pic and videos are from. First since the cams and tune. Power is much smoother through the band. Feels very strong and I'm craving more track time...lol.

Tail of the Dragon Meets!

I only have a few cell photos, but I'll post GoPro up when I get it up loaded...

My prep to head out. Check fluids, pressures and pack...

Not Dragon related but I finally wrapped the A/C lines...

8.5hrs later on Friday I'm at Jason's house (B18C Inside & Co-host of the event) Time to get cleaned up =)

A little Spoon love for the run. =)

And after lunch we headed up to the Dragon. Stopped at the beginning pull off and snapped a couple pics. Jon (EM1Crew guy in an RSX) had to clean up a little mess before we even got on the Dragon. Good turn out, great people. Couple new comers and several repeats. Thanks again to those who made the journey!

Things got rather interesting to say the least. While it was a blast, it was def the most interesting meet to date...lol. We made our first run down and when we got to the other side we noticed that we were missing a few cars. Quickly we find out that Dominick had to stop and puke as it was just a bit much for him...lol. But we also find out that Mitch (EM1Crew guy) made it about 2mi in and the passenger LCA bolt at the hub sheared off and dropped the LCA into the wheel barrel and slammed the wheel up into the wheel well. So, in Dragon/EM1Crew fashion we pooled resources on hand and I ran back down right away. One guy had a socket kit, I had a full size jack and various tools, Bob actually had an LCA bolt (random...lol). I ran back first to find him and see how bad it was. I get there and the car is there but no one from our group...lol. Turns out Dom picked him up to bring to the rest of us not knowing we were already in action to help (no cell service up there). I wait for them to get back and we get the car in the air to start checking things out.

Up we go!

And it wasnt to bad but I started getting things apart to get it right. Jon and Mitch helped out of course =) Taking it apart like this was the best option since the key for the lug nut was MIA in Maryland...lol.

Now Mitch I am sure will post up a pic of what was left of the bolt end but the majority was lost on the Dragon when it came apart. And while we had nearly everything to fix the car, we needed a nut for the LCA bolt. The one that is tacked on in the hub had popped the tack welds. This was actually a great thing as we never would have gotten the nub of a bolt out of it. So while we waited on Jason to run down the mountain and into town with a local friend to dig in the nut/bolt bin at the house to get things right, I took a couple pics of my car...lol.

Upon the return with the parts, Mitch went under to start getting things back in order. In a team effort, quickly the car was back on the ground and we got back to doing what we met to do...Run the Dragon!

So there you have it. The Dragon was a blast and we all had a great time considering the things that happened. Dom puked every time we ran it and Mitch was able to run it with no issues after the car was fixed up. And other than some rub on the barrel of the wheel and a slight pull in of the rear quarter that looks like the got rolled to hard and a bit of cracked paint at that seam, it was a very lucky situation. Overall the damage was about the best case you could ask for. Most of all, other than Dom's stomach, not injuries...lol.

Lol. I literally just came over here after reading Dom's post on em1crew, he only hinted at stomach problems but I guess the cat is out of the bag haha!

Great pics and awesome rescue!

Well, as soon as I got home I loaded up the truck with the wheels to toss 2 tires and move 4 over.

Took over the Honda tire area...lol.

Homie doin' werk.

And ready to load back up! Buddy Club's will be shipped off to their new owner very soon =)

New wheels as you can see are 949 Racing 6UL...GEN 3. I found a great deal on them and there has been no cracking data thus far on the Gen 3 like before on 1 and 2's. Specs, 2 @ 15x8 +35 and 2@ 15x9 +35 and continued use of the Toyo Proxes RA1's in 225/45/15
