Looking to purchase my first car still. This looks like an awesome deal. Found an EM1 (forget if it's a 99/00 and can't find the listing lol). Has a GSR engine swap, not built, with only 35k miles on it. The chassis and transmission have about 140k miles. Here's the best part: He's only asking $4500, and I talked him down to $4000. I attached the picture album. He has a few small mods like a Skunk2 short shifter, 6 puck clutch, and innovative mounts. What's your guys' thoughts? Yay, nay?

True, that always makes me weary... but it does only have 35k miles... and he said he changed the oil religiously every 3k miles with Mobil 1.

The body looks pretty rough to be asking $4500. And to only have 140,xxx on the car, makes me wonder why its been swaped.

Probably been treated like s**t, and blew the b16. But if there is paperwork with it for the work, from a source that can verify doing the work, then maybe.

But i couldnt let my em1 go for that. Even with the 212,000 its got on the stock drivetrain.

The body's not bad. Only the hitch mark in the front, the fender on the side, and the little scratches.on thr trunk. This isn't gonna be my showcar anyway, but eventually I'd get it fixed.

Looks like the previous owner is a member of Carolina Hondas.. if he has a sticker on his car he may have a build thread. Try seeing if you can find his car posted up on there, and you might be able to get some more details about the car, swap, etc. Looks pretty good to me though.. a few dents and whatnot but overall I think it looks good

You gotta watch out for some people on there. I've heard too many story of people around the Hickory area building cars out of stolen parts and selling them.

Not trying to scare you away, just do some research. You by any chance know the name of the guy selling it?
