I just got it Wednesday. It's stock except for a cold air intake, boost and air fuel ratio guages, it has a new turbo I'm not sure if it's stock or aftermarket. It's Garret, I don't know what kind yet. It has a mechanical boost controller and it's running at about 13-14 psi. The interior looks brand new, only a few minor dings and scratches on the exterior. Side mounted intercooler. Gonna drop it sometime after Christmas, I'm saving for an Evo Etek paintball gun right now. I will prob. keep the rims unless I see some that I think would look really good on it. I'm looking to get an exhaust, not sure what kind yet but something not loud but is deep and growly. I'll prob. get some minor bolt ons like a manifold, down pipe, ect. I would love to get a FMIC but the kits are really expensive and I'm not sure how to go about doing it myself. It has 137,000 miles. Oh yeah, I spanked a BMW the other night =) Not sure what model, I thought it was a 325i but looking at pics I'm not too sure now. Well enjoy!

Thanks guys, it's soooo much fun to drive. I've never drove a turboed car, or rode in one that I can think of. It's such a rush when it starts spooling. Plus it sounds really good too =)

FINALLY! another person in here with a damn DSM! YAY!!!! hahahah ok. as far as i can tell, it pretty much is stock. i dont know if u know this but it also has a 1st gen BOV which is able to hold more boost and if u rig it, it can hold up to 25psi.... now for the fun part, TURBO!!! im guesing that the person still had a stock T-25 on there. if it is u can deffinatly turn up the boost on it. i had my T25 at 18 PSI, anything after that would just be hot air blown into ur motor. you can stick with that side mount Intercooler for a while man, trust me that thing will keep you good for a while and if u decide to go wit a bigger turbo(16g, t28 etc...) u can use that stock side mount for more of a sleeper! as for future mods, u dont really need some fancy exaust for a dsm. i went to a local muffler shop and had them make me a custom 3inch exaust from the O2 housing back(no cat no nothing!) and then i got a N1 muffler from a local shop and that did the trick. the gains from the exaust were amazing! for just a muffler and intake (and that was at like 14psi). about a week later i got the Greddy Intercooler kit( u can get them off ebay for about $180, 3 peices) and it was amazing! i upped the boost to 18psi and it was tearing things up on the street! but honestly DSM are my specialty because u can make them fast as f**k for cheap! if u need anything let me know!

oh yea since ur FWD i can tell you that traction is gonna be a b***h. in order for me to run a 13'2 i had to spend hella money! i would sell ur rims(since u got the chrome ones u can sell them for about 300 or more if ur lucky) and get sum 17's wit a good or semi decent drag radial. dont got cheap on suspention on it either... by there way theres a lower ball joint recall on it so u get free lower ball joints all around lol

Cool man, thanks for the info. I bought it from a used car dealership but the guy there knew a lot about cars and he said it was a diff bov. As for exhaust, I love the way the angled N1's look on DSM's but I wanting a little bit more of a sleeper look, I'm tired of getting harrased by cops, I got pulled over twice in the last month in my civic and harrased for like 15 min. minimum. I don't want anything loud, just a nice deep growl plus the power gains. Did the Greddy intercooler kit come with an intercooler or just the piping? I was thinking about getting a black intercooler from johnny racecar, well being as I just check the site and he's taking a long break from making intercoolers... maybe somewhere else :lol: As for traction, it is a bit of a problem. I can't keep from breaking free in 1st unless I only use about a half to 3/4 throttle. 2nd can break free at about 4000 rpms. If I get rims I'll get 17's because I'll be able to fit a bigger tire than a 40 on it, possibly a 45 for a better ride. I just can't decide on what color or style would look the best, and I personally like the stock rims. Good to see theres another DSM driver here too. What color is yours? Mine is also a 98 BTW.

yea u can get the exaust done for cheap and even get it cocked as much as u want. lol but yea. to me it really isnt that loud, i mean its low and muffled like but i dont think its loud. even when u get on it it should be that loud!. if u buy an aftermarket one it will probably run u about 500+ i spent about 250-300 on my whole exaust(dats after buying a 130 dollar N1 tip). ive only gotten pulled over once for my exaust and that was for racing at a stop light not knoeing there was an undercover cop 2 cars back. but the best part about that story is that i won the race... ANYWAYS! lol u should honestly try to keep ur SMIC or just get an upgraded SMIC. also DO NOT PAINT UR INTERCOOLER BLACK! it does effects its cooling drasticaly! honestly i have an ebay IC that cost me about 220 and i have a big evo 3 16g and its been doing its job. since i have DSMLINK i logged befor and after the IC change, befor i had a greddy 24r and after switching to the ebay one, there wasnt much of a diffrence in the AIT if anything the ebay one cooled it more!(kinda weird but whatever). as for ur tracktion issue, thats gonna be ur basic DSM, unless u get LSD. traction is a real b***h. what u shuold do is shift earlier my first gear i switched at about 6,800 and my second - third gear up to 8,500(i dont know if u can on urs) but yea 1st gear is pretty much garbage unless u got bigger rims and good tires. 17's are the way to go because its a good size for a turbo car and also there are alot more Drag radials available to you then in 18's.

I'm not talking about painting it black, they make black ones. I don't know if it's like black anodized or what but they look bad and they don't stand out too much. Thanks Lin =) Looks nice though, wish you would have kept the fogs though, if you could. Mine redlines at 7 So I think 8500 is out of the question. I've heard redlining a turbo is a very bad thing so I don't want to risk it.
