Hello CC,

recently I've purchased a 98 si from a friend of mine that blew a piston or something engine was making weird noises and shutting down anytime it wants, my dad found me the same engine but came out of an acura 1.6 el, if i had more money i'd get another engine but at that moment i was tight and that engine was at the right price and my dads friend installed it for like 100$ =) so yah back to my point, the cruise is not working, I switch the cruise on I see the green light, but buttons on the steering wheel don't work, what exactly do I need to check for that? I thought of checking the buttons on the steering wheel maybe the buttons are broken.... ??

and, does cruise have it's own fuse or it's with something else?

There's a fuse for the button and there is a fuse for the unit itself. It might be in the fuse box on the driver side on the inside...or it might be in the engine bay mounted fuse box.

Also check to make sure the vacuum line is T'd off from valve cover to intake.

Check to make sure the cruise control actuator under the hood has the harness plug installed and that there is a vacuum line that runs from the actuator to the intake manifold.

you can adjust the switch position as well.. but why rest your foot on the pedal? cause premature wear if the clutch slave cylinder actuates a bit.

because 6th gens are controlled by the switch on the clutch pedal as well. if the clutch is depressed the circuit for the cruise control will be closed and turn off as a safety feature. thats why if you jump the clutch switch connector to eliminate the clutch start feature, cruise control will not work unless u remove the jumper or have a switch to turn it off.

i would check the fuse in both under the hood and under the dash. make sure the connector at the actuator is plugged in. and a vacuum line is attached at both the actuator and the intake manifold....

make sure the clutch switch under the dash is plugged in.

Cruise light comes on but doesn't actually work

Check to make sure the cruise control actuator under the hood has the harness plug installed and that there is a vacuum line that runs from the actuator to the intake manifold.
My cruise control dash light would come on like it was set but would never maintain speed. I checked the vacuum line and sure enough it was disconnected. Reconnected it and it works great. Thanks.
