Cruising in my Civic Vtec!

I remember when a similar thing happened to me last year, some guy pulled up next to me in a prelude with a front bumper missing showing off his shiny intercooler, he started to rev at me (right next to the entrance ramp to the turnpike), his poorly welded muffler growled and rattled against his bumper. I revved my car, which at the time was a 1998 Lincoln Mark VIII, with a Mass Air Intake, Manual Tranny Conversion, Supercharger, Magnaflow dual catback exhaust system and a pretty hefty 4.6 liter InTech V8, that thing cranked out 398bhp...His however probably struggled to crank out 120bhp. When the light turned green, I pulled out fast but not as if i was racing, so he got on the turnpike first, as soon as I got on the turnpike, I flew by him like nothing. I miss my old car :( Couldn't afford to run it anymore and got a Honda to work on instead, I know lots of people with honda's, mainly civics and s2k's...Couldn't help joining the club and im glad I did.... Im hoping ill turn my LX into a monster in no time.

What's "rice by"?

EDIT: Im assuming you meant to say ricer fly-by... I don't think my vehicle at the time fit into the "rice" category... seeing as it actually had power and was an American made sports car. Also you can't perform a ricer fly by until you lost the race, the entrance to the turnpike after the light merged into a one lane ramp after about 40 feet. The race started when we hit the turnpike, because I could see him driving like a tool and weaving through traffic like he was in the fast and the furious... I couldn't really help but show him up and make him feel like a bit of a twat.

Hey, OC writes like that! Don't knock on his writing style, you seen his nawsss post fuuuu!

Carl of Duty?

ROFL!

I agree with this. I looked at his amount of posts first and saw like 4,600...Then I read the post...

Needless to say people like this make me want to leave the "car scene" without looking back.
Don't leave the scene dude, I've yet to tell the story about when I bought an impreza with an sti conversion, its hella sick, and also super quick off the line!

Awesome story bro! Man if we were in the same area, we could get our cars lined up and have an awesome game of cat and mouse!

LOL I'm not gonna race anymore, I have a civic now, I'd get my ass handed to me by most cars haha (unless it's a geo)

The fact that you are not going to race anymore because you have a slow car shows your maturity level. Yes, not racing because you have a Civic is a small step above being a ricer, but not much better. Not racing because it's dangerous to yourself, the other driver, and bystanders would be the correct answer.

Well I live out near the boondocks dude, when I raced, it was on some old strip of road in the sticks, where it was closed off by traffic cones to reduce the risk of a fatality, I have only seen one person get in a bad accident, his car was wrecked but he was fine, also a deer got hit by a Roush Mustang.

It may not have been legal, but it was safer than doing it on a highway and there was no gambling going on, I admit that doing it on the turnpike was dumb and illegal but, people like that get to me. I have only done it once, and hell, it was an experience, by saying I have a civic so I won't race, I mean where I usually race, If my old car didn't win, i gave the other car a hard time even when I lost and it was a good feeling, but I don't feel like being completely slaughtered after such a good run for the past 5 months.

So I was cruising around in my 2005 Civic EX SPECIAL EDITION vtec, I came to a stop light and this crappy 2006+ Civic SI pulled up with rims and limo tint. I noticed him checking out my whip since his windows were down and he was looking my way.

Btw, my car has an intake/header/exhaust and some lowering springs to compliment the new found power!

Anyways he started reving at me, I looked over and kind of blew him off, as I rolled off the stop light on green, he then takes off! About 5-6 car lengths up, he hits his brakes and watches until i get closer to him. When I caught up side by side, he continued to rev some more, so I said fugg it and dropped it to 2nd and pretty much skunked him! Leaving him to choke in my dust as I top out 140 on the top of 5th on this small interstate country side road.

^I didn't type that bolded part... Here's what it should read:

"I top out 140 on the top of 5th on this long 3 lane, 9-10 mile city road." (Duh, because we were at a stop light)

Dont let them get to ya bro,I built a 03' ex, all said and done I had almost 10k into it and it would top out at 160mph..Not for sure what all you really have done to your car but 140 is possible.I dont really support you doing it on public streets but at least it was an empty highway that you couldn't hurt anyone but yourself.

So since you guys weren't gambling on the races meant it was safe. Since it was blocked by cones made it safe. This is the kind of attitude that DOES get people killed. It doesn't matter, it's illegal and unsafe. That deer didn't have to die because some douche in a Mustang figured it would be okay to race on a back road. Anybody standing on the side shouldn't be put at risk because people think it's safe to race on public roads. It is illegal for a reason, just like others things, because it puts people (and animals) at risk. There are places that hold legal forms of racing such as autox and drag racing, along with many others. If someone can afford a car, and aftermarket upgrades for their car.....then they can afford to attend these sanctioned events. There is NO reason for racing on public roads.

I would LOVE to be able to put targets up in my backyard, and start shooting my guns back there. It would be awesome. I know what I'm shooting at, I feel confident that I won't be hitting any of my neighbors. But I don't own enough property to legally do it....so I go to the shooting range.

Well here in my town, most cops know about it, emergency services did have to get called that time when the car got wrecked, they don't mind, cause most of the road is private property and farmland both occupied and unoccupied. The people that race here are middle aged or men in their 40's and 50's with nice cars that they are investing in because of a mid life crisis, or people in the families of those guys. There is just as much of a risk of an accident happening at a track. Here, its more like a community gathering, not a bunch of stupid teens who want to feel like they are playing Need For Speed on a real road with their moms Taurus.

Okay this isn't bringing the luls anymore, s**t got serious.

Anyways, you newcomers got trolled, may this be a valuable lesson to you young ones to never street race, and id you do, don't come around boasting it online. Keep it safe, live long, and prosper.

I have a much faster car, no I'm not talking about the Civic, and I always keep it on the track if I want to drive fast and push it to the limit. No need in risking myself or another out on the street, highway, or country backroad. If you think about the consequences, like getting into an accident, nobody is going to stick around and help, they'll be just as afraid of getting caught and thrown in jail just as you would if you seen it happen.

Don't be foolish, driving is a privilege, and shouldn't be taken for granted.
