i put this in the lounge for maximum exposure. Mods please move if necessary....

OK, heres the deal. I have about 3500 to spend on a turbo. (right now!!) i have been debating getting a kit, such as greddy, RevHard, and im sure you all know the rest. I have been doing some research and am slowly being convinced to go custom... i was wondering who has gone custom, what parts did they use, how much did they spend, and if they think that going custom was the correct choice over a kit.... Like i said, i have money now and its done burnt a hole in my pocket already... i need some answers!! Anybody with info can either post, or it would be cool to copy it to my email as well. I did a search, but couldnt really find the information i was looking for.... Thanks CC members.. oh yeah, s**t i almost forgot, the car is a 99 civic si, with some CTR cams and all the other basics...

get a custom mated turbo, and know what you want to do with the car when you're doing it. this is your best bet, but it may cost more than 3500. i think the greddy kit does too?

look at Innovative Turbo....go to their website or call them....they only deal with custom turbos and have been featured in Super Street and many other big mags....just tell them what kinda power you're looking for and all that hoopla and they can help you out major

buhahaha why oh why are you recommending this s**t? he wont need a 600 hp intercooler ya fricken ricer. SC61? For drag right? Street use is going to be teh funny with that ish.

Anyhow, I could help you out, but just for the fact that you posted this in the lounge, I will not help you TACTICS. And im not sorry. And if i saw this in the tech forum, i would have spoon fed ya an answer... s**t ive only answered this question like uhhh 15 times.

hhaa ricer? huh? Ive seen countless hondas run that turbo/intercooler setup, and put down damn good number, aslo the top end power with the SC61 at full spoon it amazing. And the setup is very usable on a street car.

I think thats everything, thats what it will all look like in the end, I have everything on that list sitting around except for the exhaust and hondata, my manifold is still being fabbed too. As you can see I went ahead and strengthed my clutch anf flywheel, that tacked an extra 600 onto the price, and I went with Hondata, over the typical AFC hack or using an FMU, i wanted the best of the best in fuel management. In the beginning i wished i had went with a kit, because there was alot of s**t to buy and i watched my money fly out the window, but in the end it will be well worth it. Also, alot of ur money needs to go to tuning, without a proper tune whatever you buy is useless, unless you want to run really rich all the time. Good luck with ur s**t man, you will need it..

I think some of those kits come with warrinties if you have a "Certified" shop install it. That would be nice.

All parts are either sitting in my closet, or have been bought and are being shipped. Now I just need my friggen engine to get here and Im good to go.
