All well and good... except for one thing. Don't waste the 400 bucks on Hondata. Get uberdata. It will cost you 80.

im going uberdata, found a guy in NH who actually help blake do all the vtec work, so he knows it well. but on the site thats all you can choose from. and i was going purely by the website.

K...since the turbo guys are watching this thread....and this does pertain to the thread....should you worry about miles? How many miles are on your car? I am about to roll 100,000 and want to turbo, but thinking I better rebuild before I go with even 7pounds of boost. So to repeat my question...How many miles are on the motor, what kinda miles, and should he worry about those miles?

worry more about the compression of each of your cylinders.

But if there is good compression then shouldn't you still worry about the wear and tear on the bottom end from miles? I know we drive hondas, but come on. If he has low miles then I guess no worry but if he's pushing 70,000 I would think you would still be thinking about it. What do I know though... I worry about the little things too much sometimes.

and there within lies the problem...... i want to go custom just because i can now see its a better choice.... but i would hate to spend 4k on a turbo, put the s**t on, and not have it pass the smog. I think that im going to have to go with the GReddy kit..... BTW, the car only has 38k on the motor.
Uberdata hu? sounds cool.... can anybody supply me with a link on how to do the Vafc hack... i cant find it anywhere after several searches... my web time is limited due to me surfing illeagally at work... =) thanks for the help once again guys!

mileage doesn't play as much a role as cylinder compression. test their compression, then make a call

uhhh, if you want to boost a decent amount you need to get bigger injectors. You wont pass smog with big injectors...not mine anyway =)

Hmmmm...interesting. He hardly has any miles on the car anyway so I doubt compression will be a problem. You can still pass smog with a custom turbo setup. Its just like everything else. Do your research and do it right. These guys know what they are talking about on here so listen to them. Now that there heads are so swollen they can't get em through the door to this forum I say to you good luck and keep us informed.

That's a good write up on the afc hack. My brother is currently in the process of doing the hack, so I'll see first hand how it works.

thanks for the info guys.... im looking at regging the car outside of the city so i dont have to pass the smog test... i was lucky enough to drive a SI with the drag 3 kit on it.... it was alright, but there was no boost until about 6 grand??........

the drag kit sucks. it shows big numbers...but it comes so late. since now you dont need to pass smog...go full custom. www.importparts.com is what i would suggest, but do NOT get the drag manifold...
