i am in a similar boat here ... i was planning on turboing my d15b7 after rebuilding it but this is my only car at the moment. so i am building up the suspension and brakes ... fixing all the little body damage (dings, dented hood, key that only starts the car and opens nothing else), adding a tasteful body kit (nothing ricey, i am a former DSMer), wheel and tires (already ordered) and get a decent sized cat-back exhaust 2.25 to 2.5 (something that may still be good enough if i turbo). probably goona save for a b18c5 swap. costly i know but worth it i think ... but i am still considering buying a d16z6 abd building it for RELIABLE turboing (the my HP goal is 200whp), i don't want to have to work on the car every weekend like my DSMs or sr20det 240sx i had (lost both in divorce, neither of us have them) . anything more than like 250-275whp on a fwd street car is a waste imho. i would say save for a b-swap also ... or go balls out for a j35a4 swap ... those things make like 240chp. people say they are heavy but is it really much heavier than a d or b with a full turbo set up? probably not.
