Help Car Died, Fuel Pump?
alright my car died today on the way to work its a 96 CX hatch completely stock. it just died i tried turning it over but it would not start, seems like no fuel. ok when i turn the key i hear fuel pump come on then i hear click under dash and fuel pump turns off then i go to turn over engine and fuel pump turns back on after cranking awhile i hear a thump i think it is the fuel pump in the tank. if i gas it all the way while starting it will start for a second and run really rough. while all this is going on alot of clicking under the dash going on i assume fuel relays.

any help of possible problem would be appreciate, iam thinking fuel pump?

thank you ahead of time
mike

check how deep the scoring on the cylinder is, if any... but i'm sure there is. you'll need to have the machine shop check the rod, its probly bent, and the bearings are most likely done as well. if the scoring is not to deep, you should be able to hone it and deck the block, not to mention get a new piston. i've rebuilt a motor that looked like that, as for the head, its probly not worth it to have them weld it and reshape it, etc... i'm sure you can find one cheaper or........ time for a swap...

Damn, 393,000 miles on it, that engine deserves a break let it rest in peace. I never seen a car with that many miles on it.

and the timing belt broke at 280k i think and probably bent the valves then i never checked to adjusted them figured if they were bent i could only make it worse by adjusting them
