i didnt want to post a new topic because its related to this, but my dome light, for some reason, works for when my doors are ajar. but the on switch does nothing. even if my doors are open, when i switch it to the always on position, it just shuts off. i had my whole interior torn apart, headliner and all, my headliner is actually still out. would it be a short in the wire or is the switch just bad? it worked before i took it out.
I had the same problem, for some reason the switch can get buildup and not work or have a sweet spot that you would have to get it just right to work. I used electrical contact cleaner on the electrical part of the switch and it works fine now.

Yeah, sounds like it'll be the bulbs for your gas light. Not sure about the sound that you're talking about.

dome light mystery

I, too, have the absent dome light when doors are open AND an aftermarket radio. The PO put in ana ftermarket radio, obviously by himsellf or with help from his 10 yr old cuz everytime I turn the key off, the stereo goes dead, too. By that , I mean it's "12:00" everytime I turn the key on. I need to find the 'triangle' plastic part that controls the cold/hot sliding knob, so when I get that, I will pull the dash and see what it looks like back there.

Thanks for the details on how to fix that dome light mystery...

I have an LX that didn't come with keyless entry and i didn't have that domelight problem when I installed my head unit.

about your low fuel indicator, its possible thats its just a bad bulb. You can replace it very easily by just removing the cluster. try using one of the other bulbs (eg. e-brake bulb) to make sure thats the problem before buying a new one. It cost me $9 to buy one from honda... for one god damn bulb... ridiculous. I actually have a spare cluster so I can just mail you one of the bulbs for free if you want (if that does end up being the problem).

All 6th Gen LX's come with Low Fuel Warning lights. A really good way to check to see if yours actually works, is get a gas can, fill it up, throw it in the backseat/trunk/whereever in your car, and drive around until you run out of gas, COMPLETELY. When I say completely, I mean until the car dies b/c of no gas. If the light dosent come on, then most likely the bulb is blow in the cluster. Easy fix. If the bulb is good, then its either a bad fuel level sending unit, or a short in the wiring somehwere.
I've never had mine come on. Then again, my needle is retarded. I go up a hill when I'm low on gas, needle goes below the E... yet if I start to go down a hill, it sometimes can go all the way up to almost half a tank.
