You will just have to wait and see! haha

So I got to work on the EM1 today. Haven't done that in a while. Started to swap parts from the EX over to the Si. Pics are what people want, so pics are what you will get. haha

First off, here are some better pictures of my new daily.

It's a really nice DD and beater. Plus is has everything power and it all works!

Here are some nice shots of the two Civic's hanging out. haha

I love them both and look forward to working on both of them!

Now, onto what I accomplished today.

-Swapped taillights (custom half-tint --> OEM 50/50s)
-Swapped headlights (scratched OEMs --> Black housing)
-Swapped lugnuts (random silver ones --> Black lugs w/ locking nuts)
-Removed both sets of foglight bezels
-Removed mudflaps off the Ex
-Fixed rear camber issues on the Si
-Replaced driver side sunvisor on the Si
-Put one coat of NHBP on my OEM Si spoiler

Might not seem like a lot, but it was a good 5+ hours for me. I like to take my time. haha. Working on my car relaxes me.

Onto the pics! Dammit!

Headlights before:

Taillights before:

Things to be put onto the Si

Getting work done.

So I've had this camber problem with my rear wheels for a while now. Originally, I thought it was toe. But I was wrong. I didn't quite know what this was, but once I started fiddling with it, I realized that it was a BUDDY CLUB P1 RACING REAR CAMBER KIT!!! The same thing I was going to buy later on!

So I adjusted it back to where it should have been and I got's me some camber. :P

And test-fitted the 2011 Honda Fit rims. Looked good, but I need more motivation to put them on.

And a quick shot of the OEM spoiler getting ready for paint:

After a good 5+ hours here was the outcome:

Black housing headlights

OEM 50/50 tails

First coat of paint on the spoiler

And a flash pic of the car

Overall, it was an all right day. The taillights don't fit flush, which bothers the piss out of me. The rear mudflaps need to be modded to fit, and I still need to put a few more coats of paint on more things. Oh well, that's what being a gearhead is all about. More to come, so stay tuned!

Why don't the taillights sit flush? Are the tails from the 96-98 different from the 99-00?

Honestly man, I have no clue. I asked some other friends and they pointed out that the plastic border had been cut/trimmed so that could be why. I might just need to put some washers on some bolts and see what that does.

Lookin good
Thank you sir!

FINALLY GOT TO CLEAN MY CAR!!!
PICS!!!

Mini photoshoot. Hehe :gaywave:

One of the best shots of my bay, at least I think.

The definition of mean-muggin.

And in other news, I have decided to practice my painting skills and paint my EJ8’s rear bumper to match the EM1 and not have to drill new holes for the mudflaps. I might also paint the EJ8’s sideskirts, buI I’m still debating it.
Primed

First set of NHBP. Needs some clear coats and we will see how it goes from there.

Stay tuned! OEM spoiler is soon to be installed!

Had a few hours to kill, so I thought I'd take some pics of the whip around where I live. I've been wanting to check out some industrial areas by my house for a while, but never got around to going over until today. Oh well.

OH! And the newest things I've done, are added mudflaps and raised the front of the car up a lil so I don't have as much rake as I did before.

AND............................My favorite

I'm a little disappointed with the Fit lip. I definitely need to rebolt it up or something. However, I did paint my other Type-R lip from my Ex so I may put that on to change the look up a lil. Stay tuned!

Now that my main job is coming to an end, I have more free time. So I decided to get a head start on my interior conversion.

First up on the list of things to do, is gutting the Ex. I figured I'd just add the pictures I took of the process to this build thread instead of making a new one. Made more sense to me.

After a few hours of free time last night.

All laid out

Room to work...........finally

Rear added to parts pile

Headliner, pillars, trunk liner, and carpet all out

Close up of headliner

Final result

And I'm also adding a custom touch, by painting the pillars and roof parts black instead of re-wrapping them or leaving them the stock color.

Ready for paint

That's all I got for now. I still need to add a few more coats of black to the parts and I am going to start gutting the Si. My goal is to complete the conversion by Thanksgiving.

I know it may not seem like a big deal to most people, but I'm pretty proud of myself. I don't come from an automotive background and never had someone to give me pointers on how to do anything. But enough about me ranting, the deed is done and I had fun doing it. More to come!

s**t day today. I tried to figure out why my driver side window doesn't work. After 5 hours of testing every possible solution with the relays (swapping the Ex regulator and door switches with the Si's), checking the fuses and making sure the harness wires aren't messed up. I even went a step further and took out both the Ex and the Si door harness (involves taking fender off :banghead: ) and switching them to the other car.

After all was said and done, it turns out that I have a pin/wire that isn't working on the receiver end of the door harness. After narrowing down the problem, trying to put the regulator and glass back in (in the fully up position nonetheless), was a PAIN.IN.THE.ASS. I will admit, that I lost my temper and put a nice new dent in the side of the Si.

Eventually I got the regulator and window back in, but I am off about a 1/4" from being flush. Unfortuneatly, I can't adjust the regulator from the Si, and so I had to disassemble everything from the Si and plug in the regulator and switches into the Ex and move the arms up or down. Big waste of time.

Overall, waste of a day. However, the interior pieces I posted earlier now have another coat of black and only need a few coats of clear and they will be ready for installation.

Mid switch. And trying out the new iPhone 5 panorama pic feature

Door harness out and still trying to figure out what's wrong.

Here's a closeup of the problem. What's circled in red is not what's messed up, but its what's in red that gets plugged into (the door jamb pin receiver) is messed up. I think either a pin or a wire is what's causing the problem. If anyone has any insight as to what else it might be, please share. :(

Not sure what to do next, but hopefully someone does.

Good job on pulling that interior apart! That's a hell of a lot of work. After installing my black headliner, I've decided I'm going to paint my A and B pillars black, as well as all the gray trim that's lining the headliner. Getting those pillars out is a huge pain in the ass, so I commend you on it lol.

As far as your window wiring harness, yeah that does suck.. may have to source another harness from the salvage yard and replace it that way (cut, splice, re-pin, re-wrap and heatshrink).

Damn dude that sucks.
Tell me about it man!!!!

Thanks man! Can't wait to see all the parts installed! And I hope its as simple as a new harness. :whiner:

Still haven't gotten the window pin fixed but that will take a long time to fix. Meanwhile, the interior swap is slowly closing in on being finished.

This afternoon I gutted the Si and got everything ready for the switch.

You wouldn't believe how much money and random bolts/screws I found underneath the old carpet....but nonetheless, I cleaned the car up and it looks the best it has ever been.

Here's the old carpet (left) and the new carpet (right). SUCH a difference, its disgusting.

Also, the interior trim pieces are all cleared and ready to install. They look f**kin sweet. haha.

And to give you guys a slight idea of what I'm doing, here's the transformation of my trunk from before to after:

Before:

After:

More to come.

Oh, and the hurricane hit my house early this weekend.

:D

INTERIOR SWAP IS DONE!!!

Took me about 4 days (collectively) to finish and both cars are where I want them to be.

PICS DAMMIT!!!

Custom black painted trim pieces. And some shots of the new headliner.

Another pic of the refurbished trunk.

To change things up, I changed the 99-00 cupholder to the 96-98 cupholder, because it's cool. haha

Almost all of the interior plastics from the Ex have been swapped over to the Si because they were either in better condition or black. In addition, I was meticulous and sourced every last bolt and screw so that any and all holes that any plastic pieces has, are filled.

Feels good to have done something as big as this. Anyways, I picked up a test light today, so I can find out which pin is messed up and fix it. I don't plan on doing it within the next month, but I will eventually. haha.
