so i took the truck in to another shop and they told me it is completely merchants' fault. they said in no way is my axle bent, and the backing plate bent because the brakes fell apart. merchants wont accept responsibility and now i am taking them to court. wish me luck in getting the justice i deserve.

well i spoke to the regional manager today and he agreed to reimburse me if i bring the bill from the other shop and the old parts back to merchants. i have a feeling it wont be so easy. they are probably going to try to pull some other excuse on me now but we'll see what happens.

Your axle must be bent from carrying the fat chicks that you were banging in the back.

i probably could but i cant replace a backing plate. go ahead, tell me how easy you think that is too.
Uh, the backing plate is bolted on :???:

When you take the drum off, remove the axle, there should be 4 bolts with nuts on them bolting the backing plate to the axlehousing, remove the nuts, the backing plate will then come off.

doesnt sound too hard but i know you have to drain the axle fluid too and also id have to bleed the brakes and i dont know how to do that stuff either. im just leaving this one to the professionals.
