He fails.
sorry i just skimmed the thread....sorry for bringing it upBeelzebubba said:Uhhhh, yeah. We've been through that. Dude's dragging three extra batteries around. You're wrong.handlebarsfsr said:so called electronic "turbos" do not work, because they arent turbos. they are fans. fans are great for moving air around. fans however CANNOT PRESSURIZE air, meaning they do exactly zero good. in fact, mostly they are restrictions to incoming intake air and you lose hp. DO NOT install one on your car, it wont do anything good.

Sike, i just took the carb sticker out the box and used it on my cheapy intake. Thinks cops can tell if its a carb for the "REAL tornado"? probably not unless they run the carb eo # We have tons of tornado's laying around at work. no one ever buys these over priced piece of s**t
turbo's are turbines. they rely on centrithical force at extremely high rpm to compress air. fans work with shaped blades to move air around, but due to the space in between the blades and the aerodynamics of the blades, it cannot produce any meaningful pressure. yes, you MIGHT be able to register SOME positive pressure reading, with a very powerful fan at idle, however any real positive pressure that might be created is lost by the pressure blowing back through the open space in the fan blades. they cannot compress air like a turbine can, fans simply cant do it to any meaningful pressures.HondaPirate said:You're wrong.
Fans in fact do create positive air pressure, which is why air is moved in the first place. The premise of a jet engine relies on fans, as well as turbos. If turbos are not glorified fans, what are they?
the only point that can be argued is that you cannot reach the same amount of compressing force with a fan. it is underpowered, and does not dynamically increase spooling power w/ rpms like a turbo does.handlebarsfsr said:turbo's are turbines. they rely on centrithical force at extremely high rpm to compress air. fans work with shaped blades to move air around, but due to the space in between the blades and the aerodynamics of the blades, it cannot produce any meaningful pressure. yes, you MIGHT be able to register SOME positive pressure reading, with a very powerful fan at idle, however any real positive pressure that might be created is lost by the pressure blowing back through the open space in the fan blades. they cannot compress air like a turbine can, fans simply cant do it to any meaningful pressures.
This right here is probaly the most correct statement in this thread, turbo's(turbines) creat power by compressing the air the air is getting stuffed into charge piping there is no way in hell a small fan powered by some batteries could consistantly fill that space with compressed air like a turbo does.oilpool said:the only point that can be argued is that you cannot reach the same amount of compressing force with a fan. it is underpowered, and does not dynamically increase spooling power w/ rpms like a turbo does.
rofl yesthese are the threads that v8 guys randomly find and make fun of us because
well this is a perfect example of how people can be relativley uneducated about somthing. seeing potential in an e-turbo is innocent honestly. in theory, its practical.stealthy said:these are the threads that v8 guys randomly find and make fun of us because
im not flaming.i think its rediculous.i was just bringing up what i think is a very true thing.how many conversations on v8 oriented forums would these things show up on?probably none,bc these manufacturs are trying to sucker us into their janky ass product (so i agree with you that this intelligent convo on this matter is a good thingoilpool said:well this is a perfect example of how people can be relativley uneducated about somthing. seeing potential in an e-turbo is innocent honestly. in theory, its practical.
but if you flame, and chastise people, you prevent an intellegent conversation that could have potentially taken place.

I think this was a good thread.. thats not to say that electric turbo's or whatnot arent a horrible idea, but im just saying this thread could very easily have turned into some rice-bashing fest, and it didnt... instead we have some good converstation. I can at least say that i learned something.stealthy said:im not flaming.i think its rediculous.i was just bringing up what i think is a very true thing.how many conversations on v8 oriented forums would these things show up on?probably none,bc these manufacturs are trying to sucker us into their janky ass product (so i agree with you that this intelligent convo on this matter is a good thing)but at the same time, being the honda fan i am,i laugh at this as well.idk just my 2cents....carry on... 8)
youll be suprised how many of those actually work on v8'sall go no show said:I think this was a good thread.. thats not to say that electric turbo's or whatnot arent a horrible idea, but im just saying this thread could very easily have turned into some rice-bashing fest, and it didnt... instead we have some good converstation. I also think it is a poor argument to say v8 owners dont get "suckered into some janky ass product". What then is the tornado mentioned above?? What about all those resistor chips that retard chevy and dodge guys get on ebay?? I there are phony bullshit products in all sections of the aftermarket
