Some guy had a delSol with that set up. Two DC motors on the back wheels. In all fairness, he did leave the line quickly, but I wonder how much drag they create when they are not powered.

Fans in fact do create positive air pressure, which is why air is moved in the first place. The premise of a jet engine relies on fans, as well as turbos. If turbos are not glorified fans, what are they?

turbo's are turbines. they rely on centrithical force at extremely high rpm to compress air. fans work with shaped blades to move air around, but due to the space in between the blades and the aerodynamics of the blades, it cannot produce any meaningful pressure. yes, you MIGHT be able to register SOME positive pressure reading, with a very powerful fan at idle, however any real positive pressure that might be created is lost by the pressure blowing back through the open space in the fan blades. they cannot compress air like a turbine can, fans simply cant do it to any meaningful pressures.HondaPirate said:

This right here is probaly the most correct statement in this thread, turbo's(turbines) creat power by compressing the air the air is getting stuffed into charge piping there is no way in hell a small fan powered by some batteries could consistantly fill that space with compressed air like a turbo does.oilpool said:

I think this was a good thread.. thats not to say that electric turbo's or whatnot arent a horrible idea, but im just saying this thread could very easily have turned into some rice-bashing fest, and it didnt... instead we have some good converstation. I also think it is a poor argument to say v8 owners dont get "suckered into some janky ass product". What then is the tornado mentioned above?? What about all those resistor chips that retard chevy and dodge guys get on ebay?? I there are phony bullshit products in all sections of the aftermarket
