I know this thread has been posted before but i still dont see a concrete answer. I have about $4k to spend on the turbo kit plus installation. I can get the Edelbrock kit for $3100 shipped and another $500 to install it properly with dyno sheet. The rest im getting an AEM fuel rail and press reg with a 255 fuel pump. If i decide to go with the Greddy im going to get it for $2350 shipped including the intercooler and i will have to purchase a type S bov, MSD 6btm with same fuel pump ,rail and press reg for the same price including installation. If you had this options which one will you pick, Greddy or Edelbrock. The Edelbrock comes with the extra 4 injectors and intake manifold and a ball bearing turbo. Opinions please......

i need reasons why to go for the greddy. i have the edelbrock in mind. All the dynos i have seen for the greddy boosting 9-10 psi and they are making about 190-210 on stock internals. I havent seen an edelbrock kit at 9-10 psi. If anyone has the dyno of a greddy at 6-7 psi will be appriciated to compare both kits.

i assume you have a d16...why not just get a gsr engine with that amount of money....lot better than a boosted D....but it's your car...whatever you decide to do..post pics...

I dont know a ton about turbo kits, but from what I've read I think the Greddy kit is easier to upgrade where as the edelbrock kit doesnt leave much if any room for that. So with that I'd say go with Greddy, thats what I plan to do. Any why not save yourself 500 and install it yourself??

I was researching on turbo d16 but i wasnt able to find any comparison of the 2 kits. If anyone has dyno graphs of the greddy it at 6-7 psi would be greatly appreciated

edelbrock is better greddy is almost impossible to upgrade. i would get a differant motor i know some people are tired of hearing it but with 4g's you can get a b16 and still have some money left for a turbo.(If you know where to look)

I would agree with Baby99si, get the B16, then turbo that. You can get a B16 for 1k if you look around, then you got 3k left over to turbo it. IMO of course.

With the amount of money you have right now, you could do a complete custom setup like im doing and then some...You would have money for all turbo parts, electronics/ecu, tranny, exhaust, and then tuning...

If you still insist on getting a kit I would personally go with the Greddy based solely on the numbers i have seen them put out, the edelbrock is the most complete kit but i havent seen it do much...

heres some dyno info..

If i can get a b16 and turbo with 4 grand then i'll do that better. The thing is that i have calculated and a b16 swap installed is going to run me 3100 installed. Then im only going to have 900, and with that i cant get a turbo. If i can find a b16 for 2 grand with everything then i'll get it instead and turbo it. My goals are realistic I want 250 hp out of my civic 300hp maybe if possible, no more than that. If I can get the swap for 2g's then i'll be able to get the turbo.

Hmmm get a swap and save up for a little 1500 can get you a custom kit for a b16. And 250 would be easly accomplished.

I'm telling you, if you really look, you can find a B16 for well under 2k, that way you will have enough left over for turbo & install.

ok, if you want a realiable turbo kit, go for the edlebrock. back order the march issue of sport compact car mag for a full install of the kit on a d16 and you can see there testings and hear what the experts have to say. greddy will no doubt get ya the power, but the edlebrock is more complete and dependable. good luck with what ever you decide to do.

Other way around edelbrock has more power, and greddy is very dependable and easy to take care of.........at least for B series.
