So I got pulled over yesterday...
50 in a 35.
I'm mad because I came up behind the cop and slowed down pretty well before I got to him.
Therefore, I wish to invest in a radar detector.
I heard that the Escort was the best.
I really want a cordless one if possible.
Ideas?
Deals?

I bought a radar detector a while back. I bought a cobra on sale for like 40 bucks. It got annoying quick. Especially when I figured out that I really didn't speed much. If you get one get a cordless! Needless to say I don't have one in my car anymore.

i have one it works.. but just remember they can still instant on or lidar you and if that happens you are probably hit as in you will know too late... they are hard to rely on past 75ish.. it just warns you too late sometimes... so you still have to be carefull...]

this is not really generation tech related but since it is an electronics discussion ill move it to the general interior section..

i also have a cobra.. it works well keeping in mind what i said..

I can vouch for Gen Rolla... I bought both my radar detectors off him

My cobra works great, but remember the only to not get pulled over for speeding is not to speed.... (this is coming from a guy who has 11 tickets in 4 states) I drive like a granny now

Triggered on LIDAR? nothing is going to save you.
If the cop paces you? Again nothing will save you.

I have an older Beltronics. Usually, by the time it squacks and indicates LASER, I'm already hit
It's pretty good against K and Ka.
If you are out in the sticks and they still use X-band it will chirp for about 5-10 minutes before you get to the speed trap....:???: which encourages you to ignore it and speed back up. :smackself:

I have a Uniden detector. It helps out, but I'm still cautious. At any rate, I'd stay away from cordless unless you're willing to drop some decent money on it. I have mine wired to the car so it turns off/ on with the car. Wires are all tucked away so you can't see them. I have it powered from the interior fuse panel. It's mounted above the rear view mirror. I never take it down. Theoretically, it's the best place since there is nothing obstructing it and it has a nice clear horizon to see.

Cobras are garabage from what I hear there way overated. Beltronics, Escort, Valentine are the best. I got the Beltronics V995 cost me 300$ but it works very well.

I see no need to spend 300 when my 100$ one works just as well?
:what:
The onyl one that is truely different and worth the extra money is The Valentine 1 and i think that the V2 is out now as well
