Engine Issues HELP!!

I recently got some work done on my engine. the things that were done were a valve lash, new spark plugs, cap and rotor. When i got the car back from the shop i cant go more than 3500 RPMs and the car seems to be smoking from the air filiter. does the ECU need to be reset or why would this be happening??

Bring it back to the shop, let them correct it. Sounds like the ECU is in limp mode for some reason.

I have called the shop and he is telling me that its my Map Sensor, will a bad map sensor cause Limp Mode?

hello im new to some things but my car smokes from alittle crack on the right side of the valve cover which mechanics say i just need some jb weld but i was just making conversation this probably has nothing to do with your issue but i wanted to say something i also want to buy a whole new engine for my civic and i hope i could make new friends that have some interest like i do or a thought of being in a honda civic car club

OP take it back to the shop and tell them they f**ked up. It obviously wasnt doing that before now was it?

Apparently if you have a code, yes. Without a CEL, maybe?

dude smoking from air filter (not good), not sure what valve lash is, are the valve,s closing, or is the engine breathing heavy.remove the oil filler cap when running. look for smoke.

How the f**k can smoke make it all the way down the tubing, the engine is constantly SUCKING air into it
