Good suggestion HeX I may just have to do that with the regional manager.

I'm thinking of trying the spray sea foam and see what happens.

I wonder if the set of NGK's I had were defective as my car definitely seems like it pulls stronger with the new set in

Ok so according to this my idle is where it's supposed to be. Hooked up my scanner and could watch rpms they fluctuate from 680-640 which with the stock tach stays stable so I'm guessing it's normal since the specs say 670 +/- 50. I also watched the primary o2 sensor voltage at idle and it fluctuates from high to low as it should (from the research I did about how it should behave at idle)

I also came across this video on YouTube of a guy asking about his idle and it's pretty much the same as mine.

Most of the comments say that's how their civic idles. He never reported if it was fixed or what. So is this common for these cars? I wonder if I can feel the engine shake due to normal wear.

I see nothing wrong with that idle. Move onto a valve adjustment & fuel system cleaning.

Just bring it to your local honda stealership, give them the $100 diagnosis fee and they will tell you whats wrong with it if there is anything. Then you tell the service writer "thanks i will talk it over with my parents" or you say thanks i will sleep on it" then you just never go back and fix what they said was broken. instead of racking up $100+ listening to people on a forum website that they may be right but there are so many things that could cause this... my automotive technician instructor told all of us, dont keep throwing parts at your car thinking its this and that.
its advised to put in new spark plugs with new wires. 4 wires are like 30-40 dollars.

dont correct me on my lack of capitalization skills and grammar mistakes in this online post either. i have passed both english 1101 and 1102 and none of those classes taught me how to spell. they taught me how to write essays and how to correctly research topics using databases and s**t

Dealerships usually have mediocre mechanics and will tell you that you need to replace more than reality and logic dictate. That, and $100 will cover a scan and a quick glance over with little else.

If the OP prefers, for whatever reason, to mildly diagnose while productively replacing parts that likely need replacement then its his right ,and a reasonable choice.

FunDumb, its a bad sign that your first post is loaded with negativity and errant criticism. I hope future posts are morr constructive.

Good luck with blindly following your shop teachers errant advice over Honda educated and experienced members here. Your membership in the forum is contradicted by your owm statement. Why did you join (for free) then?

Congrats on passing entry level college English. Its a shame they dont require a class on how not to be lazy when choosing not to capitalize.

Last time I brought a car to a dealership for diagnosis they basically told me to get rid of it and tried selling me a new model. Gee thanks

Don't let "dealership" mechanics fool you into thinking they're top notch know it alls, I know someone who works for Honda and he's more of a parts replacer than anything. He (currently) lacks any real troubleshooting skills. I wouldn't justify him as a real "Honda technician" so much in fact that I prefer posting here than simply sending him a text asking same questions.
