Engine swap

sup guys... i'm really wanting to swap the eninge out of my 4th gen.. but i really dont know what to put...b16a2 is 2500$ thats way to much.. i was thinking maybe going Sohc vtec? like a 99 Ex engine... but i dont know how much that would cost? anyone have any info on a good cheap swap? any help would be apreciated

the engine i got now is a stock Si 90... with 299 000 km on it... i dont think it will make it through the summer the way i drive it loll

Seriously, you can by a GSR engine throw in a type r cam, and ride it as hard as you want, but if you are going small and cheaper im sure you can find a used engine in a junk yard for cheap.

GSR's are way overpriced bigtime...........that car weigh's nothin' and the LS motor is awesome in that car, and it cost about the same as a SOHC VTEC swap.........all ya gotta find is the 91-93 B18A LS/GS Motor, Tranny, Axles, and customize the shift linkage a little..........you can use the stock ECU and the wiring harness from the stock SOHC(we did it and it works great, no trouble codes and pulls all the way to redline)......what may cost you though is the motor mounts, do some shoppin' round for those and you should be able to out run a GSR for half the cost, I know we have.

Been in this Import performance game for 17 years as a mechanic and I've seen it all, but doin' this s**t as a hobby is way more fun than makin' it your livelyhood....I'm 34 years old and still flyin' the Honda badge, anyway Integ shift likage has to be cut a little shorter or get an adjustable one..................but that's nuthin', all ya gotta do is mark it and take to an exhaust shop to cut it and weld it up...........all good

just wondering cuz wifey says i'm going through a phase and i will get over it... i told her i just like these cars and i love workin on them as a hobby... she just says its a phase... she won't believe its really wat i like... i made her watch Malibu's Most Wanted and asked her "is he going through a phase.... You can find a B16A2 for $2500?? Hook me up man, the cheapest I can find is $3300 out of Winterpeg. Are you talking complete swap with axles, ECU, tranny etc?
