it's just a hobby for me

my girl is in boston going to photography school... so she's kicking down some lessons to me when i go to visit

just practice, read manual, practice, practice, read manual, and practice
even the best camera will take shitty pictures if the person operating it doesnt know what they're doing

Come xmas time, I'll throw it on ebay since my parents told me I was gonna get a D200 w/ goodies prior to D50 purchase. So I figure D200 > D50 and gonna take advantage of xmas shoppers

96 DX hatch, Rand0m, & $lick Rick Did you guys take photography class, or just practice a ton? How much post processing do you guys normally do? And do you have a good site to help with my post processing to get better looking pictures.

Post Processing?
- I usually just bump the contrast a little and/or darken the picture a little to bring out colors

no photography class....i started out with disposables....like 5 or 6 per week...taking pictures of anything and everything.....then wifey got me a canon powershot while we were still dating....it was a good intro into the digital world.....i was taking hundreds and hundreds of pics per week with that thing....just kept practicing.....then my old man got a DSLR, and ive been going crazy with that....

to honest with you, im not always thrilled with my pics....i mean, i cant complain, because ive seen worse...but ive also seen MUUCH better....eventually i would like to take a class locally, just to kinda brush up on a few things....

as for post editing, i try not to go overboard

i need to get some filters for the d50....my friend is starting a website, and wants me to do all the photography for it (mostly outdoor action shots - surfing, skimboarding, skateboarding) so i want some new gear to shoot with
