I want to take night pictures but I am a noob and don't really know my camera(D60) all that well. What do you recommend I use for settings for night shots and should I definitely be using a tripod? My night shots are always so blurry.

bump up the iso and shutter speed. on the downside, there might be some grain when you zoom in.

tripod, long exposure, low ISO. then just stary playing with the settings

i use a D60 as well.. after i get home from work tonight ill pm you the settings i was using for some of those pics, maybe that will help.

That would be freaking awesome. I love sunny day shots but I have to start changing it up a bit, a good night shot always looks gangst.

I don't own a gun nor am i into them but i made a "Studio in a box" at my buddies crib and i was looking for something interesting to put in it. And he gave me the .40cal to put in

So here is a picture of Phil's .40Cal

Left - Canon 580exII 1/8 power (this one pumps out alot more then the other)
Right - Vivitar 2000 1/1 power

1/250 F20 ISO100 @80mm

Gear:
Canon 40D + Canon EF 28-135mm

The vivitar only has 1 power setting which is FULL, so i had no choice but to shoot at F20.
